IMO, I would like to associate being KS to being fully aware of the circumstances and understanding what our child is getting into (as opposed to going in blind) and "positioning" our child to maximise his/her potential. It isn’t so much about being KS so that my child will be a top scorer. If that happens, it’s a bonus.

Wow, you actually counted the number of scores above 270!

        Hi yongjianrong,
Pls add the following 10 schools and you should get a total of 116 schools in your chart with another 57 schools (?) left to be tabulated:

        Clementi Pri: 270
        Changkat Pri: 267 (2nd 264, 3rd 262)
CHIJ (Our Lady of the Nativity): 265
        CHIJ (Toa Payoh): 266
        Fairfield Methodist Pri: 269 (2nd 268)
        Farrer Park Pri: 269 (2nd 258, 3rd 255x2)\t
        Ngee Ann Pri:264 (2nd 261, 3rd 260)\t
        Wellington Pri: 270
        Woodgrove: 265\t
        Xingnan: 272\t

For West Grove: Should be 268 instead of 269 based on http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=461&start=1390 in another thread.

When the demand is more than supply.[/quote]As students do better, the grade distribution gets skewed toward the upper end. Since you can't do better than full marks, this means the distribution becomes narrower. As this happens, everyone's grades will tend towards 200 aggregate. That is why you see a COP drop.

The only way to correct for this is to create market forces that have a different basis. So now you have things like DSA which would technically be market failures. But what DSA does is that it randomizes the effective outcome a bit, making the game behave a bit better. More 'fun'.

All this means that the more kiasu we are, the harder it becomes to predict the likely COP or the difficulty of entering a specific school. But this is the game we created for ourselves, so we have to live with it.
