Soka Kindergarten

This is a plus point to put your child there.
In fact, during my time my preschool teachers do pay home visits. Can imagine her passion for teaching. She has to walk kms to pay visit to each one of her students living in the kampung  -
Their school days for 2011 are
4 Jan 11 (Tue)
6 Jan 11 (Thurs)
10 Jan 11 (Mon)
All Children will report to school daily from 12 Jan 11 (Wed) onwards
On 4 & 6 Jan 11, teachers will accompany the buses to bring your child to school and the bus attendant will accompany your child home
This looks interesting. They staggered the start of the school across 2 weeks. Guess this will allow the child to be more comfortable in phasing in -
Hi daddy2007
This sounds nice. Is your kid studying in this sch? -
Hi daddy2007
Sorry for the typo, i mean I have not came across any other kindergarten that does home visit besides Soka. When the teacher visited us, they spent about 1-2 hours with us on any questions which we have about my nephew and the school.
I thot that was impressive for the time and effort put in by the teacher during their school holiday.
I am still new in kindergarten, in fact looking for one for my boy who will turn 3 year old in nex feb. but, i am quite lost among the choices that i have in central area.
May be anyone can share their view on where should my boy go, between Marymount Kindergarten and Newton Kindergarten? -

Today is the so call Entrance Day to meet the class teacher. I made a request to attend it to find out more info
I was told by the school that the year prior to the start of the pre-school, there will be 4 meet-up sessions. 1 is for the registration (in Feb), 1 for the vice-principal to meet the parent to understand more on the child (in Jun/Jul), 1 for the orientation day (& to pay school fee) (in Sep) in and 1
Entrance Day to meet the class teachers (in Dec).
The orientation period for K1 & K2 is from 4 - 11 Jan. For the Nursery, the orientation may last almost the whole month of Jan. At the end of this period, the Nursery children will be organised into their permanent class group depending on the class dynamic.
During the 1-hour parent briefing at the auditorium, while the child is being placed in the class with the form teacher & the bus driver/attendant, the principal prep the parent by sharing how to deal with child separation anxiety etc. How the teachers will help new students to settle down into the school routine, especially in the areas of toileting, snack, arrival & dismissaldaddy2007:
Was told the getting the form teacher to accompany the bus to bring the child to school is to ensure that safely in the bus is strictly observed and also for the child to get familiarised with the form teacherTheir school days for 2011 are

After all the visits and discussing, I find the whole process of phasing in the child into school life is very well organised. Prior to the actual school term, there are already 3 occasions where the child will visit the school to prep them mentally. Within the first 2 weeks of 1st school term starts, how they staggered the school sessions and how they prep the child to be comfortable with the form teachers make me think that they are very systematic and meticulous of taking care the well-being of the child
My DD belongs to those that have very bad separation anxiety and I have sent my DD to several childcare centres, playgroups and Nursery/Kindergarten and so far all have failed whereby she can't settle in.
So far this is the place whereby I have this confident level and gut feeling that my DD should be able to settle well and start school life. The morning sessions are all full and I have registered my DD for the afternoon session. Hope it will turns out well

$350 for Nursery, K1 & K2lchunleo:
I guess typically the parents will only enroll their child in 1 session as the curriculum both the morning and afternoon session is the same. Bet the child will feel bored in attend the session twice a day.it is correct to same for Soka Kindergarten, parent can oni enroll their kids for either morning or afternoon and not all day session? so what is the kids suppose to do after a morning / afternoon session?
I was told that morning session is very popular and typically required balloting.
Kindergarten is a 3-hours session right. So the rest of the day will depend how you want your child to spend the day (outside of the school) -
