CHIJ Primary (Toa Payoh)

beanstalk:
Wow, it's great to hear IJ TP doing well and getting 'Good Progress' award. :celebrate:cherrygal:
Does anyone know the top score for PSLE this year? I was going through the PSLE discussion and there was no mention of CHIJ Toa Payoh. You mean no one scored above 260?
I heard that a few girls scored 266, which is the highest.
Also that the average is high-ish; that's why IJ TP is one of the 12 schools receiving the Good Progress award.
The daughters of my ex-IJ friends scored in the 250s range. -

I haven't even wrote her name down. Been putting it off ;)-Hi Mummies,
Have you packed your daughter's school bag yet ?
I followed the 'What you need to know for Week 1 of school' orientation booklet. Wondering if I should put in the files as well. My girl asked me, 'Can you help me carry my bag?' -

Can you help me ask your ex-IJ friends how they prepared their daughters academically please? What is the expectation and standard in IJ TP now ? Really lost touch since I left donkey years ago. Daughter going to P1 next year. Would like to have a feel of what to expect. Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Janet -

It's so good to hear that :celebrate: the school is recognised & rewarded for the hard work put in by the teachers & the girls. Yes, besides having an approachable, motherly & good principal, IJ TP has a great lot of committed teachers. Even the admin staff are wonderful, ever ready to help.I heard that a few girls scored 266, which is the highest.

Really glad to hear fm another parent that IJ TP has "committed and approacable" teachers…that is what my daughter needs after having a hard time at preschool with an impatient teacher…
she was so quiet and withdrawn for the whole 2 yrs at K1 & 2 and refused to socialise in school plus lack confidence…I couldn’t figure out why and only recently did I realise that she must have felt very "lousy and small" at school becos she is a bit slower academically… Both my daughter and I can’t wait for school to start…she even asked me why 1 week has 7 days cos I told her school will only start in 2 wks time.
I hope she would have a fresh start i IJ TP and made new friends…and most importantly build up her confidence and enjoy school… -

I hope she has patient and caring teachers when she starts P1. My daughter had problems fitting in K2 this year. No thanks to the tough spelling words and equally crazy ting xie given :x Her teacher told me spelling was supposed to start in Term 2 but a handful couldn't cope, so they had to postpone.she was so quiet and withdrawn for the whole 2 yrs at K1 & 2 and refused to socialise in school plus lack confidence..I couldn't figure out why and only recently did I realise that she must have felt very \"lousy and small\" at school becos she is a bit slower academically..... My daughter definitely needs to build up her confidence and motivation when she starts formal schooling. -
Hi mummies,
Anyone already received call from the school bus operator? School is going to start still waiting for their call? Wondering how much they charge and where to wait and what time? -

I think it's better you call the operator to check...esp with the long weekends coming up. Get a confirmation early.Hi mummies,
