        24hr-mum:

wow, u mean p1 must take cca already?

can other cath hi parents confirm?
i m just curious cos still comparing cath hi wif other sch eg Maris stella

band doesnt hv piano but both are music

Not must take but rather the kids are \"auditioned\" to \"discover\" their talent. Usually for aesthetics and sports cca. Certain cca if don't take from p1, very hard to join in later. Like sports. .

They are like \"auditioned\" almost every year, aren't they? I remember my boys were even offered Dance & Choir, even though they already had their own CCAs. My younger boy was even sent for Band trials with his fellow p1 classmates and when the instructor saw them, sent them all away saying \"why you all *boh-geh* but your teacher send you for band trial?\" haha. *boh-geh* cannot play most of the instruments that need blowing.

Yah - being able to play piano - not much \"market-value\" in school CCAs, unless there is a piano ensemble. But very few schools have that.

Thanks for replying to my queries… we’ll just wait and see then… really no rush to have him join CCA this early, esp since we have a transport issue staying in bt merah… as for piano… well, maybe have to sign up for lessons outside school… see how… 😎

Not strange. 1st Jan is Saturday, so Monday(3rd Jan) becomes the public holiday instead. So of course, school will start on 4th Jan.

Thanks for replying. Good that the first week of school is only a 4-day week, think my son will have difficulty getting up.

Wow! 6am is not bad! I have to wake up at 5.30am and prepare things coz ds school bus picks him up at 6.35am! Got to start practicing waking up earlier a few days ahead of school re-open! Now he wakes up like between 9am to 11am!

Thought of that before, but we don't drive, so better to let him take school bus 2-way. 🙂

Oh, by the way, some parents of the school in this thread noticed that I'm also putting up post for a Blog shop call \"Simply Cute!\", selling ladies' accessories and cute wooden stationeries. They asked whether got special discount or not, for having ds in same school.

Well, since we're \"one family\", my 2 sis-in-laws (store run by 3 of us) agreed to give special discount to CHS parents and even teachers (if you're watching this thread!)

Just browse the blog at http://www.simplycute00.blogspot.com/ and email to [email protected] or PM me here for your orders (indicate CHS parents/teachers) and I'll let you know how much discount or free gifts will be given for your orders, ok?

                        Thanks and Merry Christmas!
