Yup, but they never say that if during the time the author is on, whether there will be special price. I actually only wanted to buy the $3.90 daily special. End up getting another series also just becos the prices were so cheap (actually I bought her other books already when I was in china months back). DH was shaking his head like mad.You must visit the bookfest website, http://www.bookfestsingapore.com/. It list all the special events and daily special low price items.

You can give them this feedback maybe next year the organizer will provide more detailed information. But sometimes, I think some of the stuff might be last minute decision, too late to be included in the publicity material, which is a shame. Was her xiao mao ri ji on special too? -
SAHM_TAN:
don't cry, but yes it was; so was 马ε°θ·³. Perhaps it was, becos the signboard that all at $4 was handwritten.

Anyway, I see she really work very hard to sign the books - even write I love you (in chinese) on some books. But quite distant lah. Say thank you she also got no time to nod her head or anything. -

Did not realize she was so popular in Singapore. Because of the kids that I started on my quest in reading Children Chinese books -
SAHM_TAN:
HOnestly I have not started on her books. My kids are still on other series that I got from dd. Tamarind's blog has loads of excellent suggestions - That DS1 asked for chinese story books is confirmation that these are way good.

noticed that the school uniform is comfortable and easy maintainance type. Don't look like need much ironing.
School uniform is about $20 per set (top and bottom) - beauty of HWS is that there is no additional PE uniform (the standard uni IS the PE uni also).SAHM_TAN:
Hi hquek,
To prepare for my next yr budget for P1 purchases, could you give a rough estimate of how much would need to spend on things such as school books and uniforms, excluding school bag and shoes?
Thanks
Books I think about $160 easy, and seeing the 2009 booklist (from HWS web), there ARE some price increments from 2009 to 2010 - so you may want to factor that in 2011. The bookshop aunty was very straight - told me in the face that optional things dunnid to buy - so I skipped all that.
As for swimming, some students told me there is a rooftop pool in HW, need to bring goggles. Does any parent know if this pool is for swimming lesson or for any students that wants to leisure swim? -

Yup, it's the dri-weave material. Already looking forward to no need to iron school uni. :celebrate:

HUH? Rooftop pool? No one mentioned that leh. You sure? -

Does the shorts/skirt need to iron? When i was doing pv, saw them selling the pair of HW dolls at $15 and i couldn't resist, just got to buy a set. It is super cute.

opps, unless the students joking with me about the roof top pool. Because i did went to the school miniature model display (somewhere near the general office 1st level). The display only shows a garden on the rooftop, nothing on the pool.

Didn't look too close, but if it can be used for pe, I don't think one REALLY has to iron - but then I hear of pp ironing their undies, so would assume such pp also must iron every other thing.

Think so. Rooftop pool will cost a bomb to maintain - then again, I have no clue.opps, unless the students joking with me about the roof top pool. I called the bookshop at HW just now, they said the uniform is ready to collect.
I have not received any call from them to inform me about the uniform collection till I personally called them.
Have to apply leave to collect tomorrow.
