Timmy has 5/8 of Henry = 10/16
Total units = 10+28=38
$940-$180=$760
1 unit=$760/38=$20
Henry has 28x$20=$560 at first. -

Hi
You may use Guess and check or Number*Value method to solve Q2.
You'll get 36 number of 20 cents coin and 18 number of 50 cents coin, making a difference of $1.80(more of 50 cents).
The answer is $7.20.

Best wishes[/quote]Sorry, I read the question wrongly. I thought the question said the amount of money in A is more than B, which is impossible.
A faster way of doing:
$0.20x2=$0.40
For 1 50 cent coin in B, you have 2 20 cents coins in A, and a difference of 50-40=10 cents.
So for 1.80 difference, you take 1.80/0.10=18 coins in B
So u have 2x18=36 coins in A.
36x$0.20=$7.20 -
Hi mathmaniac,
