      Hi Mummy of 3

Can you share your experience with Tien Hsia @ JP? Thinking to put my 4 yr old boy there.
My DD1 will start lesson on 5th Jan 2011 for Prep for P1.
Maybe after 5 lessons , i can see whether any improvement on her.
But i like the environment there as she go for her lesson and we can go shopping after her lesson.

My dd attended yucai for a couple of months too. I requested for her to join P1 class right away instead of prep class. Only for the hanyu pinyin portion. I've since withdrawn her

Hi all, i m new very new here. I m not a parent myself but am posting on behalf of my brother who is in Aus. He is coming back for abt 6mths and really want to put his son for 6mths of chinese learning. My neighbour recommened Tian xia, jiang, hua berriers…etc. i m thinking of an enrichment prog that is not too stressful nor too academic. If not the precious son will loses his interest in Chinese… sigh…

By the way he is 7. We have heard of Julia Gabriel but more of their Egnlish programmes.
If i were to call up their centre for more information of course they will be selling on how good their programmes are, so i need first hand info from parents who had tried and done with their older children’s mandrain prg.
Your insight are very precious to me… thanks!!

6 months what is your bro expecting the child to accomplish? Berries is good in that they incorporate fun in learning - although at age 7, if they put him with the other pri 1 kids, it may be more academic than is desired.

I found Yuquan good in coaching chinese but there was a lot of memorisation (during DS1's holiday class last year).

If it's just to familiarise, why not try those chinese speech & drama classes. There are more action and fun involved so the child may like it better.

                  Hi Hquek,

hmm...the boy already has some basics..though he speaks with some angmo accents.. 😢
maybe speech and drama is good for him.
Would you recommend Yuquan S&D or Julia G?

I've never tried S&D in both places. My kid goes to SHHK - but the pace may be a bit slow going if you are expecting results in 6 months. Better to go down and take a look. I think there were some talk of good S&D classes in the past - worth it to do a search. Sorry, a bit hectic here- cannot provide the links lah.

Anyone has recommendations on a good Chinese Speech & Drama class?

Or any classes that help build up a good speaking vocabulary and good diction in Mandarin?

                        How’s Eduplus?

                        Thanks!
