Dear all, I am thinking of getting tuition help for my son’s English. He is in P3 this year. I heard that BC will benefit students whose foundation in English are sound. Is this true? For private home tutor, does anyone have good & responsible recommendation? Thanks

Ds1 attended their holiday creative writing last year and p6 exam preparation course for 1 term. Supposed to be for 1 semester since we paid but we gave up attending. He didn't like it. Me neither. Find that other enrichment centres provide better stuff.

dd was there a few years ago and i think she was there for about a year.

she enjoyed the lessons very much especially creative writing. the teachers did correct her grammer and vocab but they were also very supportive of any ideas she had. eg. if dd said the sun is blue, the teachers will not refute the idea but will find out the reason and help dd to correct/expand on her idea.

but i guess it all depends on which teacher your kid get.

on the other hand, her class had pupils (local and foreigners) who either doesnt not speak a single word of english or a poor understanding of it. so the teacher has to spend a bit more time with them. thus you may wish to check on this issue.

at that time, driving into the compound was a major traffic nightmare. i dont know if things have changed but i dont think i want to go there again unless someone else is driving. 😉

                  Hi,

I am thinking of enrolling my 2 boys (Pri 1 and 3) for British Council English courses so that they can learn creative writing and comprehension, and improve their vocab. I am going for their trial lessons on 27 Nov but I would also appreciate honest feedback from all parents!

                      hi,

A quick update on the trial lessons : I was impressed with the writer Duncan Watt who took the lower primary children through the trial class yesterday. He was the best ever English (composition and speech) teacher one could ever have. Too bad he does not teach there…I do hope that the teachers there share his passion and knack for teaching English…

                        Hi Parents,

Anyone has any comments about sending their Primary School children to British Council?

                        Many thanks.
