Order from Dangdang

I think I’m lucky that the one I join is not a cheater. By the way, did you encounter before. Is there a list of bad organiser where I can check before joining the spree?

Yes there is. You can search in the spree section. But note that many people who got cheated are too scared to say anything, an organizer who cheated may still be organizing sprees.
The problem is that you send money to a stranger that you have not met before, and you don't know where she lives. It is much more risky than ordering from a reputable website. -
KELLY2009:
May I know when is your estimated delivery date to received the books? I'm just curious with the reduced shipping cost how's the speed of the delivery.Hi all,
I had ordered the spree from SMH and it's only 20% shipping cost of the dang dang price. -

I've joined a couple of sprees. I'm not advocating joining spree but just sharing how I choose. I only join the spree if:
I can't get the item via the website. Sometimes there is only local delivery. I can only imagine that the organizer has a contact in that area to arrange delivery. The money saved must be worth it of course.
If the organizer has previous spree and repeat visit from same customer.
The amt for the spree is not too much.
OF course there's always an amount of risk involved -
It’s about 8 weeks.

On of my dangdang order reached me in 8 weeks, and the other about 10 weeks (I think the books were out of stock). Comparatively, much cheaper than prices in Singapore and I’m happy with that.

Yup, usually I will update the status.Just to check, after receiving the books, do you need to update your account to reflect receipt of books?
Looking forward to my books around 25 Jan 2011 -

I also organize sprees and join sprees there, for the same reason that you wrote.
I just want to share something shocking that I read in the SMH spree section. Someone admitted to \"borrowing\" the account of an experienced organizer. The administrators have not done anything yet.
Personally I will not advise others to join the SMH sprees, quite afraid that people will blame me if something goes wrong. -
What is SMH? Why more cases of fraud from there?
-
SMH = Singaporemotherhood - another popular forum with mothers to be and mothers alike. More cases of fraud becos more pp join/organise sprees within that community?
Personally I won't join sprees becos the ones I joined in the past are a bit black box - I don't know when I will get my stuff and how much I have to pay in terms of transport and forex terms. Unless I know the person personally (rather than an unknown nick), else i won't place much store by it. Pay more, but get peace of mind.
That said, to each their own. I see friends who've bought stuff from sprees and are cheerful about the amount they've spent. Good for them. :celebrate: Also, i've heard stories about people who've paid, in happy anticipation about the goods they are going to receive, only to find it's a scam. :stupid:
