2009 P1 Registration Exercise for 2010 In-Take

There are 2 days for 2B. Since you have PV in 2 schools you should make full use of your hard work. One of the strategy you can appear is on the second day of 2B, 1 parent to be at one of the school and the other parent at the other school say half an hour before the registration ends (4.30pm I think BUT please check MOE website). The school will show the number of applicants (1km, 1-2km and > 2km) on a whiteboard. Each parent must hold a complete set of documents (certified true copy) for the registration. So based on the number, the one with no balloting should submit the application. Hope this helps and wish you good luck.[/quote]Hi, we were also advised of this strategy. But when I read the registration procedures, it states that we have to bring original documents for registration. This means that we cannot be at two schools at the same time since there is only one set of original documents. Is this the case? When you mention \"certified true copy\", who certifies them? Thanks in advance.
o dear, that means it's a either u get a place or u dun kind of situation lor...I dun have luck with balloting...smurf:

Phase 2B starts and ends at the same time for all schools. So there is no such thing as a \"first\" or \"second\"-choice. You can only register for 1 school per Phase, and you'll be informed at the end of that Phase if you are successful or not. If you are unsuccessful, you will have to join the rest of the parents vying for Phase 2C with no specific advantage that might be due to your participation in Phase 2B.

Thanks KSP.:)
can we try balloting at the more popular school (we are balloting at >2km)) 1st on the 1st day and then if cannot get a place, the other parent will register at the 2nd choice school?
workable?? :? -
Anybody knows what sort of documents to bring in the P1 registration?
If going to station 1 parent in each school how to have orginal document?
I hope every school would have at least 9-10 clasees in P1. Can we check the school now to see so that can plan some strategy method? -

i remember my cousin staying >2km of beacon, she went on first day of registration, in the afternoon, the school staff already call her and ask her to withdraw as its 'impossible' for her to secure a place. Thanks Miracle Child!

Just curious... Does alumni member have priority to gain a place in the school at later phase eg. phase 2C?
Just wondering for parents whose primary school is ok but they would like to try another school 1st. Any priority if they go back to their primary school at later phase eg if they were unsuccessul in the 1st school they tried??? -

You only can apply to 1 school in any phase. The 2 days are opened for phase 2B registration. After the phase 2B is closed if the number of applicants is lesser than the vacancies, all students will get in. If more, then balloting is conducted in a few days after phase 2B is closed. After that will be phase 2C.Thanks Miracle Child!

Actually, what some parents did is to register in their 1st choice school on 1st day, and monitor the registration situation. On the 2nd day of registration, one parent will be situated in 1st and 2nd choice school respectively. Usually until half hour before registration close, if the 1st choice school heading for balloting and they think the 2nd choice school has a higher chance of securing a place, the parent situated in the 1st school will withdraw registration and the other parent situated at the 2nd school (with original documents) will register in the 2nd choice school. -

I don't think so. Once you missed the phase 2A registration, there is no going back. Though you may want to check with MOE to reconfirm.Just curious... Does alumni member have priority to gain a place in the school at later phase eg. phase 2C?

You can register in 2A first, then if you know later based on the number that you sure get a place in 2C you can withdraw from the school you registered and re-apply.Just curious... Does alumni member have priority to gain a place in the school at later phase eg. phase 2C?
