Best to appeal if she can do sports. If not, st nicks isi quite okay too. Juz go there first then if you want can work hard to go to cedar. -
COP is 248 but there are some with 248 got rejected by cedar too.
My dd got 247 and i appeal for her. Chance is slim cos I saw at least 2 appeal form ahead of me with score of 248. All places are taken up, unless there are students that give up their places, then those that appeal will have a chance. Even that, they will go by merit and give priority to those with scores of 248. My dd will most probably end up in Anglican High school , her second choice. -
Congrats to all that have successfully been accepted into cedar.
For those who have been rejected, you can always appeal! High chance you can get in. Cedar is a really good school. Complete with an all rounded education(: so no worries! There’s the jogging sessions - twice a week, tuesdays and Fridays for sec1 & sec2s, monday and Thursday’s for sec 3&4 just before recess. It starts off with 1km and slowly increases to 2.4km in preparation for napha. After that, it’s back to 1km. We jog around the school btw ^^ a bronze in napha for cedar is considered a retest, so try your best! Other than the academic subjects, we have three other - d&t , art and home econs. Each of the three subjects is split into 1 term each. Classes are grouped as follows - C,H,A,M,P,I,O,N,S. C,H,A are considered the ‘top’ classes. These three classes will have to take the math olympiad test to pick students for the math Olympiad class. I believe these three classes are grouped according to your math grade in Psle. There’s common tests every term, if not, it will be replaced by projects. There’s no common test for the last term - it’s the end of year exams. I believe the Chinese and math subjects are harder in cedar. Every zuo wen is counted in the final grades, and for the workbook, cedar plubishes it’s own. For math, several sec 2 chapters are brought down to sec 1 and several sec 3,sec4 chapters are brought down to sec 2. If you have any clarification, you can always approach the teachers after school to sit down and go through again. For streaming, there is as much as 4 triple sci classes. A math and geog is compulsory in the previous batches according to my seniors. There will be many chances for your dd to grow and be nurtured into a leader. Opportunities are everywhere. One interesting thing is the assemblies are completely held by students. Announcements too.
Cedar is an excellent school! I hope you will enjoy your sec life there(: -
My daughter has just been posted to Cedar Girls’ Sec School. We live in Tampines. I have found out there are 2 ways of getting to the school:
(1) Take Bus No 8 from Tampines Ave 2 to Macpherson (Betime Bldg) and walk.
(2) Take MRT from Tampines Station to Aljunied Station. Catch bus No. 100, stop at opp. Joo Seng CC and walk.
I need advice which of the above is the faster way (esp during peak hours) or is there another quicker way which I am not aware of?
Is there any school bus service provider who will send students from Tampines area to the school?
Thanks. -

Not true xD. Many of my classmates got by with bronze. Some didn't even pass but were not 'pushed' to retest. And it's napfa btw.Individualist:
You will be asked to drop a math in sec 4 if your results in sec 3 are not good. And geography is compulsory, the only different is whether you do full or elec.A math and geog is compulsory in the previous batches according to my seniors.
