Yes, she teaches from her books most of the time. When I went to fetch my ds home from lesson one day, though, I saw some notes written on her whiteboard. Those were strategies on creative writing which I didn't see those on the books we bought, so she probably also taught them something extra if you take her lessons.

As mentioned in my post prior to this, I do not have any basis for comparison when it comes to the learning effect, but I think the lessons should be helpful. I do not know to what extent it helps though, sorry I can't offer much information in this. We speak Chinese at home and I seldom interfere with ds's English learning, I worry that the more I interfer, the worst things become. ds also has mild dyslexia and so I don't find getting him to memorise vacabs and things useful even if I want to help. He will just forget everything very quickly. In short, I have to rely on others totally.

Not sure if this information is useful: When ds got back his SA2 paper last year, he made a number of mistakes. But he had perfect scores in cloze passage, comprehension and only lost one mark due to carelessness in the story writing section. As I did not send him for English tuitions in comprehensiona and cloze passages, I think it is fair to contribute the perfect scores in these sections largely to her teaching. HTH.

Sorry I missed out this one. ds attended two times in total: once right before primary one and once before primary 2. I intend to send him to her class this holiday too.

I think her strength is in the quality of the books she has written. Her approach is rather drilling based, in my opinion. Very academic, result oriented and systematic. If this type of course is what you are looking for, maybe you can give her a try. Personally I prefer a more 'lively' type of lesson if available, something to inspire my child.

Just a little feedback about Rosalind’s method of teaching. I felt that it is not too good. Reasons being that she will have as many students as she can recruite. She will just brush through whatever she wants the child to do and leave him/her alone to do the work in another room. She will see them again only when the child finishes the task or when they have queries ( but normally the kids do not dare to ask as she looks fierce ) as she will need to attend to all other kids of different level. She marks her work very quickly as she has too many to mark and she will mark everything before the child returns home. If your kids are not independent enough, he or she will be left aside to day dream. However, if you are new to her ( first timer ), she may pay more attention to the child. Her main purpose is to sell her books which i think is extremely expensive.If you have bigger kids, pobably they can feed back to you. ( My kids were P6 and P4 when I placed them with her for once a week for ten weekly sessions - I have to pay for the complete ten sessions.) Although her book is not bad and her English sound great but I had never want to put my kids with her again after trying my kids with her once ( ten sessions).
