Friend's DD rejected by Temasek with 230. Called up the sch to check & reply was many students with 230 and most probably she missed the chance by 0.1 0r 0.2 mark. Was told also that chance for appeal is high so she filed the appeal form & hopefully rec'd good news by next week. 🙏

Its love at sight sight and the cheerful student councilors we met. We finished buying everything at 10am, quite hassle-free. But my DD was a bit disappointed as she thought she will get to meet her classmates and form teacher yesterday. How about you, Jieting?

Ya lor. We also thought tt they will bring them to the classroom & meet form teacher. I still hv more to find out from the school.[/quote]What do you wanna know bout the school? my other child graduated there a year ago...so could tell you...

                  Hi Sallysara,

I would like to know the following:

1.) Do Temasek look after good students very much?
2.) will the teachers push the students to the limits like giving lots of homework etc?
                  3.) discipline & character building.
4.) is this school made up of mostly rich men’s kids as there are private houses arround?

Thanks for your help in advance!

                    Sallysara,

Great, we have a Temasek consultant now!

Do gives us more info about Temasek lifestyle, good and bad, also is the resilience camp compulsory, because my DD has asthma, a bit worried.

                    Happy holiday!

                      Good points of temasek:
                      -focuses a lot on leadership
-very understanding;the day after cca(all cca takes place on the same day;tuesday and friday,im not sure if they will change next year)the school will function about one and a half hour later,so that students will have time to rest and finish homework, but of course school starts later, will end later!!!
-students are released as early as 1.30pm everyday.unless they have cca, higher chinese lessons, detention, project work to complete,or if teachers chose to drag on...i heard some schools end later, and even have indefinite school hours...
                      Bad points of temasek:
-they are very strict on school rules(this is what i feel)
-spot checks on attire, hair, shoes etc are often conducted.

im not sure if the sec1 resilient camp is compulsory, but the sec 3 one you can opt not to go,with a parents letter and good reason:)
reminder:never be late for school as they willl take down your name;punishments will be given if one is late for several punishments.

                        1) Not really, students are treated equally...
                        2) Depends on teachers and subjects, homework have a deadline. Primary school has all subjects everyday, while secondary school can have only 1 subject(applies for humanities) each week, which means you hand in your homework the next week. Thus, as long as you balance well, it is not really a lot of homework.
                        3) There is good discipline and character building in the school as there is an hour in the week that teachers teach these.
                        4) Im not sure about this. But I know that the buses to go to school are often filled with temasek sec students..so you can say only a handful live at those private houses?
