Hi all, I am wondering whether NJC badminton CCA is difficult to get in ? so far, anyone has any idea whether NJC badminton is very good. Thanks in advance.

for jh1s, they can only join CAFE ccas, which is already like once to twice a week. If they really want to join, i think they can join it as a second cca. but the first CAFE cca is more important and it is compulsory.

He was the only one from Lower JH in the cca. Talking about which is more important. If the cca has an event, it would be important and take priority over cafe, right? Only makes sense. My ds took a most casual approach to the cafe cca as such. In fact, when I spoke to the teacher on signing the forms for year 2 ccas, she also said year 2 cca not so important and abit like cafe too (????!!!!). That wasn't the impression I got when I read the letter and from the briefing my son had at the end of the year. Good thing though is that my son managed to rope in several people he's met this year in jh1 to join him. hehe. Now got more \"strength\".

Oh, and there is a cca fair at the beginning of February, right? I think more for the JC students joining. It has more ccas than what cafe offers. If really interested, can go enquire at the fair.

You select 3 ccas to do for the whole year. Also have to put 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, like any other school's cca selection, but there are no trials. It's just based on availability.

At the end of the year, again, have to select a core cca, and if the child wants - a 2nd cca (there are way more choices for 2nd cca though).

Whether they get to represent school, depends on the cca, their ability and the events/competitions/fairs available, right?

Things like math olympiads and science fairs, i think don't need to be part of cca to be seleted to represent school.

basically, i dsa-ed into the school and i'm the pioneer batch. i will be one of those involved in next year's orientation so a 'hi' to all 2011 jh1 students!

Any of your children doing OGL for next year like \"helloeveryone\"? Are the OGLs also often Student Council members, \"helloeveryone\"?

Was wondering that if a kid was really good in a sport, would he get the chance to be on the school team in year 1 as it's only CAFE which (correct me if I'm wrong) doesn't sound competitive. Say for eg a kid who's been in nationals in primary school in badminton, swimming, basketball etc, he may be good enough for the NJC school team. But with CAFE, he might not get the chance? Just kaypohing.

the OGLs are students who volunteered but elected by the teachers and the student councillors. All councillors be it in the JH or SH student council will automatically be OGLs, of course they have the right to refuse too.
