2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
-
dadelina:
My son is a Dragon baby (2000)...he's in a school without affiliation to sec. So he will have to work extra hard to get into a secondary school of his choice. The cut-off is higher for students from other schools in comparison. For eg St Andrew's Sec takes in all the boys from the St Andrew's Junior and cut off point (COP) is 180 compared to 230.Hi Mummies,
I'll be registering for my DD1 next year (2011) too - feeling very anxious already. Need advise regarding pri schools with affiliations vs. pri schools w/out affiliations. Does it really reduces the 'stress' in our children when PSLE comes?
Cos, my daughter will be under Phase 2A2 for Henry Park. However, location is really a prob for us - we're staying in Jurong West.
For my younger child who is a girl, we have registered her in CHIJ Toa Payoh where I am old girl...much further as compared to older sibling (walking distance). But there is affiliated sec. So daughter will have option to continue in CHIJ TP secondary or another sec school if she does very well at PSLE. -
hi there,
My DD is 5 years and will be enrolling for P1 in 2011.
Option 1 - Kuo Chuan (KCPPS)
Option 2 - River vally primary
Option 1 - Within 1-2Km
Option 2 - Her daddy is from River valley primary.
Would like to know about both these schoolsβ¦
Which school should I opt for?
I wanted to try Pei Chun but it is out of 2km, and no PV. Think my chance of getting it is slim. -

Yup...sold the house in jul and moving to our new place soon. MGS will be within walking distance, a luxury that I never had when I was a kid. Son will go to ACPS one year later...which is 'down' the road. Saves a bit on the ridiculous school bus fees though...but more importantly, proximity gives them more to study! Haha.
All the best spikey. MGS with her affiliation is an very smart choice. The things we'll do for our kids, if only they knewspikey:
getting ready for the last preparations...my class 2B less than 1 km for MGS preparations are finally ready!

So envious.

Nobody knows what P1 registration will be every year...take this year's registration for example, several schools had balloting which was not to be expected as 2004 has the lowest birth rate. But what happened is, there are many PRs and new Singaporeans (converted from PR).
yes actually stiff competition is coming from PRs and new Singaporeans

If it still stands and you're ok to SJI, there is no prob. -

i recommend moving within 1 km of acs...for a sure thing. i think there is little or no chance outside 2 km for acs. go to the kiasuparents homepage to checkMy boy is registering next year and i have 2 options.

within 1-2km of kcpps probably needs balloting based on past years pattern. -

can you tell me how doing PV at 2 schools works? We can only register in 1 school at each time right? so you'll be under phase 2B for each school and can only register your child for 1 school ?me too.. my girl .. will start P1 in 2012
I'm doing PV in 2 school
Compassvale ...still have half and a hour to complete
Rivervale ---- total 8.5 hours still short of 22.5 and one project.
Very stress...
