      ExpatMom:
Actually bus 185 is more convenient than 157. It's a shorter walk and you don't have to climb up and down the stairs to cross the street.

I can get DH to bring my other kid to school, but I would still need to walk to the bus stop and it could take 15 minutes for the bus to show up. Unless I took a cab... hrm... I could potentially do that. I would have to call one after the bus arrives (to make sure he catches the bus first) so there would be a little bit of a delay...

When the kids get to school on the first day, where do they go? Straight to class? Will they be guided by people waiting for them to get off the bus? If I took a cab that was 5-10 min behind the bus, I may not be able to find him anyway to see him off by the time I get to school.

      Hrm. :scratchhead:
185 doesn't come to my place, sob sob.

After picking your ds, the bus will still move along to pick others, so you will still be in time, cos your cab takes you straight to school.

When it was my time, the Orientation papers said to meet at the school hall with the form teachers. There'll be prefects holding the class placard up so the kids can't miss their class. They'll gather there (not with the rest of the school at assembly, so it is not chaotic for the P1s) and the teachers bring them to their classrooms from there. That was for only the 1st week.

So you could find them there in the hall I guess, if they are doing the same thing in 2011?

I got there late, so I went to the classroom to peek, but I stood quite far away cos I didn't want ds to see me. ๐Ÿ™‚ Some parents stood right at the back door of the classrooms and when the kids come out to queue to go on the guided tours, the parents followed closely, everywhere and kept trying to talk to their kids.

I think it depends on the kids' nature, I guess. Some kids like that attention, but my ds is the type who would be extra self conscious if I hover around him so I try to watch him from a distance. ๐Ÿ™‚

I noticed that the teachers didn't bother what the parents did for that first day. They pretty much tolerate any type of behaviour, I guess they understand. haha.

Thanks Champion for the info btw, why some classes dont have Co-FT?

I am not sure also - what I can see like for this year, my gal FT is only teaching her Maths so the Co-FT is the EL teacher. And I realise that if the FT is a CL/ML teacher (where besides their name there is a *), most have co-FT.

Also they have uploaded the pic of the new Principal ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks young, pretty & stern

                Wah looks very smart :celebrate:[/quote]

Yes, indeed ๐Ÿ˜„ Most of the HOD I have seen them around in school and I think one or two of them are newly promoted :celebrate:

                E.g.
                Mdm Tan Mei Ying
                Subject Head โ€“ Special Proj/PLD

She is the CL co-ordinator and happened to be my gal's CL teacher for these 2 years. She is a very dedicated and caring teacher. And she is very strict with handwriting - ็ฌ”็”ป must be correct and neat, else she deducted marks on that...Haha...I kudo her for her insistence and strictness - the students learn to write proper chinese characters.
