All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

2 prince:
For most schools I know that once they accept a parent as a PV, they will give ample opportunities for each & every PV to complete the min 40 hrs of service. So most PV will be successful unless they are the extremely busy or always out-of-town kind.Hi,
Been a PV for WGPS since last yr,still need another 20 hrs to clock in.Do u think there's enough time for me to complete?I'm getting worried, called the school for ad-hoc but they said currently they dun hv any activities going on.Would like to check wat if by 30 June i'm not able to complete the 40 hrs?Does Tat means I will fall under phase 2C?Pls help!!!
However I've the impression that WGPS accepts a lot of PV as compared to other schs (like close to 100 each batch?) so I'm not sure if you parents have to be more pro-active in being selected for jobs. Still, I think with 20 more hrs to go, you're making good progress & shouldn't be unduly concerned. My friend who PV at another sch clocked zero hrs at the same stage last yr, eventually did managed to complete his quota well before the deadline was up. -

Yup, I have heard that too from a mutal friend who children are in WGPS.
So 2Princes, maybe you need to have some form of back-up plan - just my own opion

Which is why I feel that it was so much easier then...even if can't get into school using Phase 2B, I still have 2C...a 'sure-in' thing.

These few years and likely the subsequent years, competition for a gd school will be very tough. Even Phase 2B will be getting harder & harder to get in. Believe the situation is not like that many years back
