I guess the Junior should boost its standard more if most of their own students can't even hit the COP

63 out of 380 sji boys (sec 1) came fr sjij. The sch does not prepare the kids adequately for psle. My son’s sci teacher told my son tat she doesn’t know why tat she is tasked to teach sci as she is trained to teach maths n not sci. And my son was in the 1st best class after the jtp class. There are other issues too… I hv also seen the sch inhouse after sch care kids playing nerf gun along the corridor at abt 4pm which is during sch hour for the lower primary.

Considering that SJI has successfully applied for IB, it is normal that the COP will increase and 238 is actually not very high for a 6-year thru' programme. My only surprise is they do not provide a slightly lower COP for affiliation, and keep it at the same level as \"outsiders\" entering their sec school.

although the cop is 238 the intake for 2011 sec 1 will not get to go thru the 6 years programme. We were told by the principal at sji. Btw sjij boys r encourage to go to st pat too.

my friend’s son in jtp sought the teacher help as he is weak in sci but at the end of the day his teacher did not help him at all n he scored 220 for his psle.

If that's the case, and since they have to compete with few other catholic schools (under the group), why did they have to change the name?

Only change the name if it's helpful for sjij boys right? After all, they are under one umbrella?

i found a after sch care kid at level 6 staircase looking out for his opponets at 4pm. I was on my way to my son’s classroom to collect his homework from the tray.

This year cop for sji non affiliation has dropped from 243 to 241.

can i ask will most of you be giving money to your boys for recess or pack food from home initially? and if give pocket money, how much you think is enough? $1.00?

My plan is for my son to pack food fr home. But the first few days since they will be helped by the older boys, i'll get him to buy food from the canteen to get some practice. chicken rice cost abt 9O cents, i'll prob give $1.50?

I am under the impression that there will no proper recess on 1st 2 days hence boys are asked to bring snacks. It is written in the orientation booklet. Haha then again, staff may claim that they have not said so in the communication!

Btw, which class are your boys in? Mine's Gabriel. Any differentiation ie ranking of classes in P1?
