Hi Raynreg!
I am considering RM and Gan Eng Seng. Given the balloting situation in Zhang De last year, I have decided to give it a miss because we will be in the 1-2 km group, which may need balloting.raynreg:
You may be able to get in CHIJ Kellock if you stay within 2 km. Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned CHIJ Kellock had no PV scheme. Hence, you don't have to worry that there will be many children who qualify under Phase 2B. Last year, all those who applied to the school and stayed within 2 km got in. So, maybe CHIJ Kellock is your best bet?Like all others here, mainly zhangde, rv n CHIJ (kellock) but sadly all within 2 km

Hi qms, quess we are quite risk adverse given the balloting history of zhangde. S i presume that your 1st choice would be RM and Gan Eng Seng (GES) would be the next?Hi Raynreg!

I have not done homework for CHIJ. Do you have any feedback. How is their performance compared to RV. CHIJ has affiliations to secondary school right? -

Actually, my situation is rather similar to Chipmunks. My son qualifies under Phase 2A2 for Gan Eng Seng, but RM is nearer. So, we are still considering.raynreg:
Actually, my daughter's childcare teacher has a daughter in P1 of CHIJ Kellock currently. If you are interested in finding out more about the school, maybe you can let me know what you would like to know so that I can ask her? I still remember her anxiety last year because she lived within the 2 km radius, and she thought it was gone case until she received confirmation that her daughter had got into the school successfully.I have not done homework for CHIJ. Based on past balloting history, Zhangde & Radin Mas reqd balloting for those staying at 1-2Km range.Above 2Km all do not have any chance.
Guess one of the better choce to fall back on would be Gan Eng Seng Pri as noticed the take up rate for last year was 80% at the ned of phase 2C.
Anyone know about Blangah Rise Primary? Seem have any little information on this school also.
Hopefully I in Phase 2B would be able to choose RV (1st Choice) & RM (2nd choice), -
Titank, Blangah Rise seems to be the least popular among BM area … Nobody seems to recommend BR, dunno why…
For me, proximity is a consideration too as I will need family member’s help to fetch my children if they need to stay back for CCAs etc. RV compound is really nice & neat but distance is further & location relatively inaccessible. RM is really very convenient for me although school looks very old.
As at now, I would put RM (1st choice), RV (2nd choice), though I feel a bit of a waste as it’s easier for my child to get into RV & RV is quite a good school afterall. -

Hi Chipmunk,
Are you staying Bt Purmei where it is very near to Radin Mas Primary? For my case choosing RVPS or RMPS would need the sch transport as I do not have any family members to fetch then like after school or finish the ECA.
Do agree with you that location of RVPS is rather not so accessible & heavily require on school bus. Guess I still is 50-50 on both RVPS & RMPS.
Do you have any information regarding RMPS? The school seem very strong in IT & I'm quite afraid that may not do too godd for the child. -

If I am not wrong, it was only last year that Zhang De required balloting for those staying 1-2 km, probably because of their successful open house. In 2007, the principal said that those staying within 2 km all got in, and that there was no balloting. Hence, Zhang De only has a history of balloting last year. Zhang De had all along been my first choice until last year when I saw the P1 Registration outcome.

I think the performance of CHIJ Kellock is at least on par with RM. In fact, last year's PSLE Top Scholar was formerly from CHIJ Kellock. She got into the GEP and transferred out of CHIJ Kellock. So, I suppose the school should be good.I have not done homework for CHIJ. Do you have any feedback. How is their performance compared to RV. CHIJ has affiliations to secondary school right?

Hi Titank, Chipmunks n qms, seems like all of you, including myself, are on either RM or RV. Hope that all of us will get into our school of choice
.
As for CHIJ, may I know how they fair in their mother tongue (ie. Chinese). Are their performance at national averages? Accessibilty wise, it doesn't look to convenient and may even be worst then RV? -

So far I knew that RMPS do have P1 examination. The marks is like 25% (SA1), 25% (CA2) & 50% (SA2).Anyone have the examination scheme of RVPS like in P1 or P2?Hi Titank, Chipmunks n qms, seems like all of you, including myself, are on either RM or RV. From the website, the achievements of CHIJ Kellock do seem impressive. They have the record of producing top students in PSLE. In fact, CHIJ Kellock is at least on par with RM. As for their mother tongue, you may like to see what they achieved in 2008 from the url below:

You may be surprised that CHIJ Kellock is not as unaccessible as you think. There is a bus stop located between the school and St. Theresa Church. From the bus stop, it is just perhaps one minute's walk to the school. Their main entrance is located next to a temple.
