        Hi all,

how's your kids first day in school? My kids are alright, just that both seems to get quite strict teachers.

For my son, the form teacher has already given them a list of recommended books, what she expects and given them pledge to ensure that they put in their best. I think she is a good teacher and from what she wrote in the welcome letter, I think my son is going to be busy this year. ๐Ÿ˜„

As for my girl, think her maths teacher is good too. He told the class, if they are naughty, they will get a warning. 2nd time will give the parents a 'love' letter. The 3rd time, he will not scold, just pack up and GET OUT! I told my kids, I like strict teachers, then they will finish their work properly and on time.

Hpe that everyone kids will have a good time this year!

          Hi kwokwc,

I am just curious. Who is your son's form teacher? And your daughter's Maths teacher? ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi mjl, my sonโ€™s form teacher is Mrs Shahrin and my girlโ€™s maths teacher is Mr Albert Ng. According to my kids, Mr Albert Ng is the teacher teaching the Maths club. He told my girl that he doesnโ€™t use textbook. He teaches concept.

Do you know these 2 teachers and how are they?

hi kwokwc, I have guessed correctly. Yes I know them very well, both are exemplary teachers. Under Mr Ng, there is no need to buy My Pals are Here Maths textbooks as he has never referred to them. Mrs Shahrin will give tonnes of homework (good training for perseverence, if you look at it positively), her mantra is \"cry now laugh later\" ๐Ÿ™‚ . I have sent you a pm.

hi qms, happy new year :celebrate:

                we're good  thank you.
my son's first 2 days have been good, as he comes home brimming with stories. Today he announced that he loves his chinese teacher (that's a strong contrast to his \"dunno\" comment regarding MT last year :faint: )

as the school kick starts their timetables, he will get to know more of his other teachers and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

btw, just found out that bibi baba school uniforms for QTPS are all out!
could only place reservations and wait...

wishing all more happy days and good stories to share ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Not sure if the uniforms are all sold out or wait until 1 Feb when the price will go up. ๐Ÿ˜ If reserve now, is it old price or new price? I am also planning to get 1 more set of uniform for my girl as for P3 onwards, after PE, must change back to skirt. Need at least 1 more skirt so that I won't be too rush ironing the uniform.

                    Hi mjl,

glad to hear that they got good teachers. I am very happy that they transferred to QTPS rather than other top school as they enjoyed themselves very much here, such as joining the swimming carnival, queenstown idol and year end concert.

My son just told me, he might be selected to be one of the compere for the coming chinese new year celebration. Not sure why, he seems to have caught a lot of teachersโ€™ attention. Although Mr Ng has not taught him, he knows him as he asked my girl about him. Not sure if he is a transferred student so the teachers and P know him more. Like my girl also told me, the VP is able to call her name when she is wearing her ballet uniform. Not sure if all these attention is good or bad for them.

                      Hi

Just want to share the good experience we encountered with the school so far (in the first 2 weeks that DS has been there). From the start, (at the school open house) we noticed that the current cohort of students were not only well behaved and polite but also a confident lot :-). This 'speaks' well for the effort that the staff have put into educating them.

DS is settling well and happy to be in school. He is so glad he can buy his own food ๐Ÿ™‚ and said the curry chicken rice is yummy. We met the P on a few occasions and found her to be very approachable. She even told me, if there is any problems, just go up to her and talk to her. My DH and me thought this is a very nice approach.

We are looking forward to lot more of QtPS as we have two more young ones in line ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, the P is very approachable. Even the VP is also very approachable. In my kids' previous school, you don't get much chance to talk to P or VP. For QTPS P, I saw that after school, she is quite often with the kids waiting for the school buses. She will talk to them and ask them about school etc. A very nice lady indeed. I also see her putting in a lot of effort to be with the kids during the P4 camp last yr too.
