How's their selection process? They just reject without interview? :?

          VooVoo,

I went for the interview but i guessed I didnt perform too well. it was more like a meeting then interview. A few parents / family was in the meeting room, self introduced, what u can contribute to the school.

They wanted parents who could commit to come for reading program, if u know how to play chinese instrument will be a plus point cos they did parents to help out in that area.

I hope my tips will give u an idea what the school are looking for when u go for the meeting next year.

          Chief,
I have dropped the school an enquiry today and followed up with a call. Worse coming to worse I will urge my hubby to go and look up the "shifu" of his secondary school to see if it will help.

In was quite last min idea from hubby that he wanted the kid to try the religion school and I checked the school website that they dun need PV.

Even using my parent in law address, we are under the 1 - 2km range.

Thanks for sharing, J2mum...hmm do they let you know before hand what they need? Or you realised this after introducing yourself? Hmmm...can be quite  embarrassing to \"boast\" in front of some many of people...

 Looks like I better go apply to some other schools too

              VooVoo,

U must have confident in yourself. Dun give up so easily. It is the same for any school that u thinking of be their PV.

Yes, the parents are really "Fighting" for the places and it is quite shocking too. 60 places only 35 seats of course.

We were told to ask qns so the parents wanted what the school really looking for. I played Erhu for 1yr but I pretty honest. hahhaa…
I dun want to teach if I really cant…

I do hope u get in, as the birth rate boom after 2004. May be more difficult for ur child.

My impression is that it only opens to those formerly from MBS only as you will need to show report book,etc.... but no harm checking.

Hi, MBS does not accept PV of potential parents. My ex-teacher was telling me that MOE is asking them to cut down on the no. of students and there were also talks of moving to single session. But it is not gg to happen as they are still keeping to 330 students intake and 2 session as based on future trend of siblings joining MBS, it was not possible for them to cut.

If you can get some buddhist association to refer you, you might still stand a chance under 2B I think. I think that's how some of my kids' classmates got in.

                      MMM,

thanks for the information and encouragement. I will call the school to check again. Have to check with my BIL to see if he knows anyone from the SBA to help me. He is quite active in this area and hopefully his contact could help us.

BTW, if i am using my MIL address to apply for MBS (providing i can get into phase 2B) and if I didnt get in under phase 2B. Can I use my address to apply for Kong Hwa at phase 2C?

Went to Ngee ann pri open hse and noted they have quite few girls. Wonder if it’s correct. Hv to register my girl for P1 this july (under 2C) and was thinking of either Ngee ann pri or Haig girls. Not considering TNS bec got to ballot and based on past year records , by the phase 2C, very few places are left.
