Oh then maybe in the 1st few years have to depend on sch transport. If this is not a girl school, then it would be almost on par with Radin Mas Pri in the Bukit Merah area.

I looked at their achievements, it seems that they are strong in dancing.

Hi qms, any reasons why an all girls school if you only have daughters? I have a daughter n am toying with the idea of CHIJ as well though this will have to go to phase 2C

Hmm...Actually, it's because my daughter seems to be more influenced by her female classmates than male ones currently. I thought perhaps my daughter would learn more among her peers who are females only. CHIJ Kellock is also strong in areas where my girl has an interest in. My husband said that it was only natural for children of such age have friends belonging to the same gender. Of course, there are pros and cons to choosing co-ed, too. Maybe as a parent, I think my daughter will be better protected and learn more in a girls' school. Well, that's just my thought.

Hi qms, CHIJ runs single session, has affiliations to secondary schools and only does year end exams (ie. once a year) are plus points. Been comparing with RV but was concern of their mother tongue as RV offer higher Chinese. So i believe RV would be stronger in this area. Now I’m starting to ponder between RV or CHIJ. Thgt I would have firm up by now???

I thought CHIJ Kellock offers Higher Chinese, too, and their results for the past few years had been above national average? Maybe their standard is not as good as RV (?), but, given CHIJ Kellock's record of producing top PSLE scholar, who knows your girl might be one of those who scores very well to get into the GEP, and ultimately, able to join a school that is very good in Higher Chinese? Must look on the bright side....

RVPS orginally is a chinese school, I guess the std of Chinese Lang should be quite solid, solid. Anyway once the 1st child get into the school, I do not have to worry the 2nd one as it would be automatically into Phase 1.

Gan Eng Seng Primary is having a open house on 4 July 09, maybe you guys can go check it out.

Umm… now it seems like RV, RM, Zhangde,GES, CHIJ all hv their good points.


Titank, I’m staying at Telok Blangah area, near my family. Though within 1 km to RM, my gal will still be taking sch bus as the walking distance is pretty far & had to cross some busy roads.

CHIJ is relatively inaccessible as compared to RM and noisy (road noise) but I heard all their classrooms hv air-con to block the noise. Their school compound is relatively new.

CHIJ was my 1st choice initially until hubby n I decided on co-ed recently. So my choice is still between RV & RM. Won’t be registering at both schools in phase 2A2 & phase 2C at the same time as it’s too much of a hassle.

So, let’s see what’s our 1st choice rite now. For me, it’s still RM. For titank, still RV ? What abt qms n raynreg ?

So you would be considering RMPS since it is within 1 Km from your place? Are you near to Blangah Rise Primary? This BRPS seem to have very little information & not many people having discussion on it.

As for me would be as follow_

(1) RVPS (50%)
(2) RMPS (50%)

Unless have very good reason then would try GESPS. It is very near me & within walking distance to GESPS.

That's the impression I have on RV as well. That their Chinese is more solid. However, CHIJ just come to my mind yesterday after a call to the school about my chances under 2C within 2km. Pretty good they say. So now I'm :? .

For me its between RV and CHIJ. GESPS would be my last alternative since its just next to my block.
