The first thing he told me when I picked him up is that he spent $1.70 on a can of soft drink & some noodle. So he likes school cos now he can order soft drinks w/o asking for approval  .

πŸ˜‰ Your smarty little boy.

You know, my girl, started out p1, underweight. She was a very fussy eater, could 'fast' when food is not to her liking. When she was in a cc, she barely eats anything. Once she started P1, she had this liberty to choose and her weight ballooned. Her report book indicated her as underweight during mid year and than overweight at year end.

Daughter is a fussy eater...if she likes the food, she can really eat.
Her recess this week is paid for (optional). This morn, she asked me to prepare food for her recess bcos, 'the food my teacher gave me is not nice'. I told her next Mon onwards, I will prepare her snack for recess.
Anyway, Some Info that Might Interest the KS Parents was explained in Detail ....

Top 4 Class : Starts from 10, 9, 8, 7
5th Class : 1 (With ALL 4 subjects Reasonably Good Results)
Next 5 Class : Mixed Ability - 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

So If your Kid in say Teamwork 1 - He / She's not in Worst Class, but in 5th Top Class ....
OR Could We Re-Named them \"MIDDLE CLASS\"???? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
Or the \"SANDWICH-ed CLASS\"????

(See Mark, I'm Also Trying to Score Marks with the School - le!)

Ha Ha ....

Wow Funx .. just Day 1 and you have deciphered the \"Class Rank Secret\"
You have wasted all the time that the school is trying to do - conceal. πŸ˜‰
Actually they can name the class the same ... but will the new concept.

Actually, I just Happen to Ask My Gal Casually Last Nite when I was Chit-Chatting with her before she goes to bed, and mentioned that one of her Gym-mate is in Teamwork1 ....

And She Told Me P Goes into Detail on How Class Postings R Allocated -
ANNOUNCED LOUD and CLEAR - During the LONG-LOOOOONG Assembly yesterday Morning!

So My Re-X-Tion is MUCH the SAME as Yours -
WHAT is ALL this TALK About \"CONCEAL-ing\"????

Now ALL the Students Know .... No Different if U Name them :
Teamwork 10, 9, 8, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
OR
Charity, Faith, Grace, .....
OR Even
A, B, C, ....

Right? πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
(Aiyah, Mark - Am I Gonna Get De-Merit for this Post?
Better Refrain Me-self Again ....
Ha HA ....
  )
Yup, my DD also told me that it was announced during assembly about the class allocation saying something like other than the top 4 classes, Responsibility 1 to 5 are all mixed and spread out, so there's no good or bad class. This is indirectly telling everybody that Rbty 9 is top followed by Rbty 8 etc etc... πŸ˜‰

Oops!! πŸ‘… Am I politically correct? πŸ˜‰

No no no.....you should not get De-merit. If the information is given to all students openly and your girl could give the entire picture...she should be credited. I, for one, appreciate your sharings, very very much!!! I am sure there are other parents who feel the same too.

Btw, teamwork (P4) only has 9 classes. Until now then I know it is top 5 (4-teamwork 9,8,7,6 plus 1-teamwork 1) classes.

I feel that the purpose of the class renaming/allocation methodology is not to conceal the top classes but to dismiss the notion of a few particular classes being the weaker pupils classes. To me, it is a win-win measure. Abled pupils get to mix with abled pupils (teachers have an easier time to teach, a particular group of parents are also happy). Late bloomers are in a mixed ability class, less easily identified n get to keep their morale in check.
