Callie Tan:
Hi Callie,Hi all,
It has been a tiring 2 days for me, running to and fro the school...
My girl is not doing very well. She hates it because it's afternoon session and she has no time to play. She cried when I visited yesterday and today (yes yes I know I shouldn't be there) during recess time. Last night and this morning, she told me she didn't want to go school...
Well, I know this is only the interim period but it is really tiring trying to encourage and console her. Her P5 buddy started tearing today when she saw my daughter crying so badly!! I feel so bad!
So sorry to hear that your DD is not enjoying school yet. It can be quite a major adjustment for a 6 year old to adapt to longer sch hours and a total new environment. Give her more time. Once she makes more friends, things will improve. Though it sounds easier said than done, it will happen.
Once the buddying programme ends, the gals will usually hang out with their partners from their classes during recess. Maybe you can encourage your DD to get to know her partner better during class. Start with 1 friend and slowly extend her social network. :hugs:
Furthermore, when the teacher starts teaching, the gals will get to know each other better through group work and fun games so rest assure, your DD will come to like sch, slowly but surely.
Here's wishing your DD all the best.
Hang in there. :ugogirl:

Remedial lessons for P1 only starts next term for identified weaker students after the teacher's assessment of the pupil for 1 term. Once the pupil is identified, she has to come to sch earlier to attend the Learning Support Program (LSP). -

Thanks for the support... yes am encouraging her to make friends and told her that after thursday nobody is helping her during recess time... think she is going to freak out. The funny thing is my girl is not the timid kind by nature...don't know why she's behaving like a big baby now?? Forgot to ask her whether she has made any new friends from her class...

aiyo, my DD's timetable tml has mother tongue. Not sure if I shld bring the MT textbk too? Her bag is already v heavy fr submitting all the Eng & Math thingy.
Hi cantbearit2,
It's advisable to bring the MT textbook and activity book when your DD has MT as some MT teachers will start teaching.
Know what you mean, DD2's bag is super heavy today as her teacher requested for additional books and files to be brought to sch today. :faint:
Guess better to bring more books for 1 day than everyday.

Hi can'tbearit2
I think it's most probably me instead. : )
I retired my Gold fitflop, now wearing the white sequined one.
Your DD is very cool! Not anxious at all and can call you still!
When DD was in the car, I asked her if she was scared cos there were juz a few pple left at sch, she nodded her head (felt so guilty).

My DD was used to aftn naps at childcare ctr too so initially I was apprehensive on how she's gg to stay awake during lesson time in the aftn. However, she has been telling me thgs fr what the teacher said so I guess she was listening after all. -
