i thot so too - thinking it be good she take some ownership of her things, now that she's all grown up...
the handwriting honestly speaking is not in tip top condition.. as in maybe not all are same size and shape....but the alpahets are clearly stated.
now, she's so downcasted..........
i'm bit lost how to comfort her

I think that's not very nice of her teacher to say that just on the 2nd day of school. Your DD just entered P1 and she expects all the kids to have perfect handwriting at day 1 or 2Dear all,
My girl's form teacher told her that the wordings she wrote outside her exercise book (where her name, class, subject is to be written) is ugly. she told her to ask me to write for her instead.
my gal came back very sad.
wondered should i be glad that her teacher is so frank to her? :?
?
I labelled all my DD's textbooks and will leave the exercies books for her to write. It doesn't look great but at least it's her own handwriting  -
now .. i'm getting worried how is she going to survive for the next 11 months? hopefully they change the form teacher yearly.....
how to comfort her? :?: i'm really feeling the pain
-
now i’m bit regretful …after doing the pv and going thru the balloting, thinking i have got the sch most suitable for my gal, now wondering did i make the right choice?
-
hi rainbow,
i can understand how you feel. maybe that's just the teacher's style. she may not turn out to be a bad teacher. just encourage ur dd to practice writing her name more
-
ok .. thanks

dear minnie 2004
think i’m feeling bit more of it cos my gal ever receive compliments for her handwritings… and none of her teachers ever complain about her handwritings, guess its still readable… just that there are bad hair days as well… i never expected her teacher to be so ‘tough’ on her on her second day in sch…
should i bring this to the teacher? i’m worried she would be blacklisted as well… -
hi rainbow,
don't think it's necessary to bring it up to the teacher. maybe your dd is not the only one who received such comments from her, unless the other kids all have their parents write the names for them
-
My gal, was so quite in the morning, complaining about how early she was waking up. I was able to bring her inside her classroom.
During break time I was there, her buddy was so lovely…
After school she was so talkative telling me about everything.
I am so happy to see how blessed we were to get her in a good school. -

My first reaction in your case would have been to label the teacher siao - but that's not advised. So, first chance I get, I would probably speak (nicely) with the teacher and understand where she is coming from.Dear all,

Haizz, the teacher expectations very high? Gosh, not all kids have copperplate handwriting. Anyway, define NOT ugly - it's a P1 kid for goodness sake.
For your girl, boh pian, just encourage her to make lemons out of lemonade and prove the teacher wrong. Sorry about your experience - it really is a downer on start of school.
In my kid's case, the school told us (parents) to fill in for him - guess that's good becos though my handwriting not good, at least it does not have direct impact on my kid.
