Oh my, is there a separate book called \"my Journal\"? I only have a book called \"My creative writing\". Thought it is 2-in-1, i.e. Journal cum Writing Book, is it....or not??

sorry to say but I found the orientation thing not very organized, info/guide to our new parents not clear enough.. sometimes I found myself like \"headless fly\", caught by \"surprises\" from time to time... ok, maybe it is just the blur me... 😞

Ha, so dramatic. Anyway, just realized that there are water coolers in sch. My DSs shorts are too loose too. Worst, they are so used to rubber band kind of pants that they just can’t cope with the hook and zip pants when they go toilet.

Ha, abt the creative writing book. When I was in the hall yesterday, my ex-colleague called me (he is hungry and is eating at the canteen; his DS in 1D) in a bit of panicky voice that how come he saw someone carrying a book “My journal” which he didn’t buy, where to get?
I guess we parents are really many many times more stressful than our darlings... and also a lot more excited that they are now in P1. 😄

Asking again... any parents from 1H?
        :salute: to you... everything x 3.... 😓

yap yap, 2-in-1. My ex-colleague just didn't see the back cover of CW and the book list didn't mention too.
Ya, I feel the same abt the orientation and presentations too. They didn't give an overview, agenda/schedule of the day on what is going to be presented. And the presentations are quite poorly done (oh mine, they are the HOD somemore). Can't even do the basic things right e.g. slides shd not be off the projected screen, and half of the time, I can't see what are on the slides. Can't imagine these teachers who can't present well are going to give marks to our darlings on their show-and-tell.
Also, the principal just say what comes to his mind. He has no checklist on things to tell us. So, bet he may missed out certain things.... that's why at the end of the session, so many parents still have so many questions. So, ululu, i think we are not blur.

            Hi All,

My Ds told me tomorrow have to bring drawing block , scissors, and glue. There should be some art and craft going on.

DS keep asking drawing block, did I buy from PCS ?? I feel it is the same the paper weight and size. My answer was yes yes…

These few days weather is bad. If the clothes are air dried, it has a stinky smell. I am going to get at least 2 more sets. so that he chg everyday a set with no worry of not drying. I do not have a dryer at home.

Ask him what teacher did in class… answer : dont know, any homework ,dont know … Difficult to fish out things from our kids…

I have asked him, is his teacher nice or fierce ?? He said teacher is very nice and kind.

So far I am happy that DS is able to reach home @ 6.30pm as he is taking the small bus. He is the second to alight … So no complain on school bus.

Books - Somehow, i realize the teachers collected different books from different students. I did a check with other parents of the same class I happen to see and all feedback they had some books collected whereas the same books for my DS are still in his bag for the past few days and vice versa. Hmmm …

Shorts - DS’ shorts became looser than during point of purchase. Haiz, I just altered the buttons to take in more material. If he tries tomorrow and its ok, I will need to alter another 2 pairs of shorts. And I sewed in a hook for the wallet cord clip to try out.

There seems to be many letters/stuff for parents to read/go through everyday. I am hunting the whole bag everywhere in case there are notes or what that I slipped out.

My DS’ art lesson was today, said he did some drawing but its not indicated anywhere to bring what kind of art materials for next art lesson. Need to fish more info from him again tomorrow …

Yesterday’s rain was really heavy. I went to check on SC’s teachers fetching the kids back from PCS and was glad to find they were systematic and calm throughout. So far after school reopened, SC needs quite ok. Hope they maintain this way.

I given my DSs a little note book and tell them to write down what teacher wants them to bring. Yesterday, DS1 wrote: A4 size drawing paper, scissors, glue, Art file, Health Edu and Social Studies books.

Yes, there is drawing block in the book list and I took it out. But DS1 said emphazed that its \"A4 size drawing paper\". So, ended up, he took only the normal A4 paper. Not sure if he heard correctly and so I asked him whether he wrote the little notes by himself or copy from the board, he said copy. Let's see tonite whether he did bring the right type of paper. We didn't buy the Art file. So I give him his PCF file which is able to contain a few A4 files. See whether he complain tonite or not.
As for the books, not sure if they are having Health Edu and Social Studies lessons today or simply just collecting.

If I remember correctly, the higher chinese textbook and actvity book, 1 square box ex bk, blue file are still in his sch bag. Those not in his bag are Maths Shaping course and activity 1A part 1, Maths builder, red file, CW, word bank, 1 line ex bk.

As for 1H, things are done differently. Yesterday, the teacher given each pupil a checklist on what he has not submitted. It's so much clearer and so less stressful for me - don't need to ask the kids. So, my DS2 claimed that he didn't give teacher the Word Bank book is WRONG!

As for the uniform, I thot they will wear 2 days of PE attire and 3 days of the uniform? Or do they need to change into uniform (or PE attire) again after PE/CCA? Ya, I am still trying to see how many sets of uniform/PE attire are sufficient. But yesterday, I overheard a conversation between 2 PCS kids:

Kid 1: Why u wear PE attire today?
Kid 2: My mum said the unifrom not dry yet. So wear PE attire lor.

Can we? PE attire definitely is much comfortable, easier to dry and don't need to iron. My DS2 and DS3 likes the PE attire a lot more than the uniform. They said: This one is so much more comfortable! Can I wear this everyday instead?

I believe the teacher collect the same set of books. Just that our kids blur blur and did not bring out the book from the bag. This is what happened to all my sons. After the 1st day with so many books back, I thot the teacher didn't want to collect. So, on 2nd day, they went literally with an empty bag except pencil case and colour pencil. Then they came home and said that teacher say must bring \"ALL\" the books esp DS1. When I ask which book, DS1 keep saying ALL lah, ALL! So, I took out those 1A book again and gave them an briefing on each book title and cover. Finally, some books are 'missing' from their bags yesterday. So let's see they have a lighter bag again today bec today both classes ask for HE and SS books. Last nite, I brief them on the HE and SS title. Ended up, we had so much fun finding the duck in the SS activity book. All of u shd try that too.

1H has more letters than 1E, k. But I prefer more letters. Otherwise, our kids std answer of Dunno will drive me crazy.

Glad to hear the SC is good. If I can't stand it being a SAHM, I will definitely need to source SC out.

I am planning to let my DSs bring snacks to school rather than giving them pocket money as I know that the chance of them losing the money is very high. Last year in K2, they have outing to Giant to experience buying things and with no surprises, my DS3 lose the money at the start of the journey.

I am so busy asking each DS what to bring and guessing what is really needed the next day that I have no time and energy left to ask what the teachers do in the class. But I know they have meet all their teachers bec they were comparing the names of the teachers in 1E and 1H. Ha, when DS2 said his form teacher is Ms Tan, DS1 said his is Mrs Ong, my DS3 panic and said \"Dunno mine is Ms Tan or Mrs Tan.\" We certain hear alot of Dunno this week.

Btw, I just went to the PCS website to update profile. Realised that each child email address is given "a number"@poiching.edu.sg. We are suppose to overwrite this field with our actual email.

For the 1E parents, just curious whether is THAT number of yours lies between 61 to 90? Incidiently, I found that my DS1 number is bet 61 & 90 while DS2/DS3 bet 151 and 180. I am guessing that that NUMBER is our child ranked number??? If so, the so call top 90 are evenly distributed in first 3 classes is bull-shit.
