Any moms here interested in joining PTA, please let me know? We are looking for moms to take an active role in the education journey with your girls and at the same time get to know the teachers better. :celebrate:
Hi lovejoypeace, may I enquire what PTA is? Can parents whose girls are not in the school yet, but who plan to enrol their girls in the school, join?
Secondly, what level of commitment is required? For eg, are there weekly meetings, if yes how long are the meets etc? What does the PTA do?
Thanks! -
i hv rec’ PTA membership yesterday. What is the membership card for?

My P2 daughter got a form for extra bus service (later dismissal at 4.30). Is it necessary to sign up for this, particularly since there’ll be swimming?

Caynelle, PTA is Parent Teacher Association. It's not compulsory. Some parents don't sign up for it, like me. I don't know what its benefits are. Do PTA members get something non-members don't? Any PTA member care to share? And change my mind

Hi Jacsplace, thanks very much! Yes I went into the school's website and saw that there is just a crest on the PTA page, nothing else.
Which level is your daughter in now? How do you and how does she find the school so far? I will be registering my daughter for P1 during the registration exercise this year and am considering SMPS. I keep hearing that it is not a very pressurising school (academically) and that the girls are very happy there. I wonder whether the girls get enough support and exposure academically especially as they go into the upper primary years, if the school isn't the sort that emphasizes heavily on academic results?
And how are the teachers so far?
Thanks again
