Um am I right to say that Chinese schools like NYGH, HCI and Nan Hua have all their students taking HCL? There was no CL on the booklist. :?

Most people in NH seem to take HCL, I'm not sure but there may be some who just take CL? But that would be a minority.

My friend will be taking normal chinese in nanhua.

There should be a cca briefing right? Not sure as they just changed the hod of cca this year. But for last year, you would need some music qualificatons to join them.

If I am not wrong the CCA HOD retired last year.

Really? I didn't know. My cousin used to be in Chinese Orchestra about few hrs ago and when she entered, se did not even koe how to play or had any music qualifications. She was still accepted and she played the pipa.

yeah maybe you can try putting it as a choice. all i remember was last year the hod of cca was sooo naggy and gave us about 3 long talks about cca =/ . and she stressed that you need experience. but like i said, there’s a new hod so she might be less strict. you interested in joining those 2 ccas?

LoL I just had 1 talk. I now know the importance in CCA and since my sister, who is currently in primary school is joining guzheng I would also like to join performing arts CCA so I can practice with her.

                        Serafiel:
                        NHHS sucks lah.

The school only achieved band 1 because of the 30+ PRC scholars.
Without them, only about less than 10 local people are in the top listed on the website, and fyi, about 5 of them are PRs only.
Besides, in 2006 (my batch), NH is supposed to have the highest COP in history, 249. It is no surprise for them to maintain a band 1. As for me, with 256+2, I still did not make it on the list even though I also got into Hwa Chong.
My point is--those who got on the list are people getting 271 and 265+. They are in my class, I know. If you know people who got 240+ and are in nanhua, their chances of getting L1R5 at least 7 is not high at all.
Excuse me. I am a 267 currently studying in NHHS and my L1R5 is above 30. Don't assume that things are the way they are. PSLE means nothing. Nothing at all. Don't be envious of your friends. Don't compare with anyone. Just strive to be better than yourself.

Maybe I'm an exception, but I tell you, PSLE marks do not determine O Level results.
