I have just spoken to one 1C parent, yes indeed they have quite a bit of school work. I had a small booklet, the stellar program. After my DS read all the words, I will tick and sign off below.

I am not sure of other homework. Later I will check.

Thanks, angel64 - didn't realised need do the PAPA thingy and sign off. Just went to check my DS1 notes. Other than stellar ws pg 4-6, also need to hand in art folio cover next friday (so art lesson on friday lah). Next monday, wear PE attire. Any idea need to bring another PE attire to change?

Need to bring the health edu n social studies books. Yellow files too. I think I wil jst ask my kid to change to shorts before PE lesson. PAPA tot only sign off but act need to complete whole mini booklet.

My boy said, the art does not need to hand in.

I just questioned him, why monday need to wear PE attire also you didnt tell mummy. If I didnt find out, tomorrow you are the odd one out in uniform.

Boys are boys … everyday is play and play. Think he has not adapt real school life yet.

Same here, I am preparing one small bread and a pack of milo, those ready made type.

DS said he wants it that way.

For 1E class we will keep each other inform. I know my DS tend to forget things. Ask him, same old reply … don’t know. Very difficult to fish things out.

DS' number in PCS website is indeed less than 30! Could it be that they allocated the children to various class already then assign the number by class?

Think so. My P2 ds's number is 300+.

My P2 ds's number is also 300+. I think the school just allocate the first 30 number to class 1C, next 30 to 1D...and so on and continue for P2. It seemed that for P2, it starts from 271 for Class 2C... I've checked the number assigned to my boy, it matches the alphabetic order in his class and so I believe the number given is not equal to his ranking(as we have his class and overall ranking result in his level).

My girl spent 1.5hr on homework this weekend, including colorings. And I can see the progress quite fast, only 3 day in school, 9 pages of books already covered. I hope she will be able to keep up. 🙏

This morning I told her her to pack her own bag for I was really frustrated. The info I got from her and from the timetable is contradicting. So if she's scolded by teacher today for bringing the wrong books, let it be. Then hopefully next time she will be able to remember or note down more clearly.

Wondering whether teachers can just write down on board (also ask kid to copy) what need to bring the next day for the first two weeks? It will be very helpful if they do that.

And DD kept on mentioning A4 size drawing book... what is that? We only have A3 size in our stock.

Hi ululu, surprise to see your kid hv so much homework to do include coloring? My DD in 1D, only 1 page of Hanyu PinYin. That’s all! No English or other homework at all.

DD told me need to bring a small notebook for teacher to write thing on it? Did you all prepared for yr kids also? I thought school will give each student a handbook to communicate between teachers & parents? Anyway, just bought a small notebook for her & see wat will come back.

It depends on your ds/dd class teacher. For my boy, in his P1, his form/chinese teachers will write down all the homework(including parent's signatory..bring art folder....etc) on the board for that day and each student will need to copy it onto their student handbook. As the handbook is not ready during the first few weeks, your kid will write it in the small notebook(this is in his P2 booklist this year, unsure if P1 have this) temporary until he/she receives their handbook.

For art lesson, P1 normally uses A4 size drawing block(same size as our writing paper, popular and their bookstore selling). I have the same problem as you last year as the bookstore despatch A3 size for me and I have to go and buy the smaller A4 drawing board.

I see. Thought DD must have given me the wrong info on the size of paper.

Eh… I forgot to mention the 1.5 hrs also included time spent in toilet, drinking water and day dreaming… however, it is still quiet a lot to me. If I remember correctly she did math worksheets, quite some pages in the book… and for CL, it is just coloring…not sure whether there is EL homework though… must have… but can’t seem to recall. oh yah, CL requires them to read text book out loud several times and DD did that too.
