      Hi Gecko,

Just checking did you put your kids into MMK from K1 or earlier from Nursery?

I have enrolled for next year Nursery (4yo) but now am really tempted to defer it for another year and go for the morning session instead of afternoon. Reason being DH and myself really wanted to send him to school before we go to work. Also we think 4 yo he will benefit more from a smaller class size.

As for next year 4 yo, still got time to be more flexible to DIY enrichments like go for Berries for 2 days, Julia Gabriel or other enrichments for other days....

      Any comments appreciated.

        Well, Desert Wind,

My eldest one, 1DD, started at Nursery. She was at a day care for 2.5 days a week for about 2 years prior. She is now at SNG, pri 1

My middle one, DS, started at pre-Nursery. Now K1

My youngest, 2DD... well.... she is 2 months old.

Classes smaller at pre-Nursery.They get bigger at Nursery.

As for enrichment classes, being working parents, they are all squeezed int the weekends.

Berry's on Sat morning for both (since they were 3)
Lorna Whiston on Sun afternoon (since they were 3)

What we have during the weekdays (piano for 1DD) taken care of by grandparents πŸ˜‰

The kindy does have enricment classes but as they are after the later session, we don't send our kids there.

        Hope that helped.

        Gecko

              Hi Daddy Gecko,

              How are you doing?

Say, there is a \"Marymount Kindergarten\" thread over at the \"Pre-school\" section. Why not share with us your experience there and also help to answer some of the parents' questions?

My son just started Nursery at MMK and so far, so good.

I have one question, I notice there are 4 Nursery classes but just 3 K1 and 3 K2 classes. Does it mean demand for K1 classes drop after Nursery? Why do you think this is so?

              Happy New Year!

It may mean that the class size is bigger for the older kids in K1/K2. If not mistaken, the toddler, N1/N2 class sizes are usually smaller so that the teachers can give better care and attention to the younger ones.

So, it may be a case where the 4N classes are merged into 3K classes.

OIC, this makes sense, thanks, schweppes!

                    Yes, that is correct.

                    Class size goes up.

                    I think its 15 per class at pre-nursery, 20 at nursery, 30 at K1 & K2.

It allows kids to come in at Nursery and at K1, even if they didn't come in at pre-nursery.

The reason why I didn't share my experiencesat the \"pre-school\" section is .... I didn't really look and didn't realise that Ithere was one. πŸ˜‰
