25hourmaid:
Aiyoh, no need to apologise. I make that mistake too.autumnbronze:
I tried to purchase a Made in Japan Zojirushi airpot this weekend but was told they are now made in Malaysia or China.
autumnbronze:
Sorry, :imsorry: blame it on the Maid's deterioting eye-sight! :salute: Didn't see properly, anyhow click! :oops:No no, am not talking about bread machine in my last statement. I was referring to air-pot. So how? Think I should give it a pass??
I would give it a miss if I were you. Not worth paying that kind of price for a so-called Zojirushi airpot if it is made in another country, better go for another brand, but between Malaysia and China, I would opt for the former!
Yup, agree that between the 2, Malaysia more relaible. Okie thanks, will take note of that. Thank you.
BTW, have PM you

Sun_2010:
First of all, no one is doofu! :celebrate:Oh,
some one explain this doofus how difficult is it to make bread? And what abt ingrediants - easily available to make whole grain one?
I practically like to make things from scratch, somehow the tot of making bread never occured!!
and what kind of budget should i be prepared to shell out - a rough range say for this model?
Pls , pls, pls...
It is not difficult to make bread using the breadmachine, in fact, the breadmachine is meant for bread idiots like myself!
Most breadmachines would come with their own recipe books and in it, there's quite a good variety of breads to choose from - plain white bread, wholemeal, french loaf etc.
Not sure how much one cost now. Have been using the current one for quite a few years already.
Good brands would include Zojirushi (but make sure it is from Japan), Princess, Kenwood, and maybe Bluesky from Carrefour like mine, but problem is I am not sure if Carrefour is still selling breadmachines under their housebrand, Bluesky.
Like I said earlier, things I would look out for in a breadmachine would be the horizontal pan and the jam function, these two are the most important thing that I would look for in a machine, but that said, between the two, my priority goes to the jam function.
Hope that helps. -
mrswongtuition:
   I am impressed mrs wong!!I prefer to use the breadmaker to knead but my oven to bake.

I'm using Princess and my mum's using Kenwood. Both have been with us for 3-5 years, used weekly.
Anything from Zojirushi is good.
My mum's Zojirushi electric water kettle has been with her since I was born! And it's still working great!!! -
Sun, autumnbronze, not difficult to make bread with bread machine at all.
I love the smell and taste of fresh bread in my household. Even during baking, it is already a very welcoming aroma…
As for jam function, I have not tried but I believe it works magically easily like what 25hourmaid has shared.
Incidentally my ex-breadmachine is Bluesky (vertical pan) but Carrefour told me they are no longer bringing in. When I searched the internet and wrote to the supplier, they would not ship to Singapore. So there goes my Bluesky dream and I have to switch my attention to Zojirushi(vertical pan). -

Totally agree on that! :celebrate: BTW, one reason for my not baking bread often is that I am put off by the slicing part. How do you overcome that :?ksi:
Been there, done that, that's why dare to share! The jam function is amazing and it is a must for me where breadmachines are concerned! :love:As for jam function, I have not tried but I believe it works magically easily like what 25hourmaid has shared.
ksi:
Haha, didn't expect to meet another Bluesky user here! Like you said, I like everything about Bluesky, except for it's vertical pan but I had no choice since it one the only one available given my budget and my need for the jam function.Incidentally my ex-breadmachine is Bluesky (vertical pan) but Carrefour told me they are no longer bringing in. When I searched the internet and wrote to the supplier, they would not ship to Singapore. So there goes my Bluesky dream and I have to switch my attention to Zojirushi(vertical pan).
BTW, do you mind sharing the price of this Zojiroshi model that you have in mind? :? -

This is one research project I will embark on a bit later b4 making a final decision whether to invest one ornot

I have this model! (or fairly close, I think).
It’s so so. The bread is not so good like what you buy outside. It’s hard, has a more floury taste, and doesn’t keep well. Not sure if all bread machines are like this because this machine is the 1st I’ve ever bought.
About difficulty, not difficult at all. Just difficult to eat, cackle. (Unfortunately true). I love the Japanese soft rolls or the hard European textured ones from Cedele. The bread from this machine doesn’t come close. My recipe is straight from the machine pamphlet. I tried other recipes too but the outcome is similar. -

Oh whew!! U too Blobbi?!? Glad to know I'm not alone as I have the same prob too.
Mine is the older model and whilst it was easy to bake the breads with the breadmaking machine, my breads didn't turn out as soft as how I like it to be. The other headache was the washing up. Found that a chore. In the end, it's a white elephant. And I'm not just referring to the logo, pun not intended
Then again, I aint no Nigella Lawson so don't just take my word for it.

Blobbi, schweppes, serious ah? There goes my Zojirushi dream too...
Anyone has used a Bluesky and switch to Zojirushi?
The Bluesky was a gem to me. Lovely bread it made and one would eat it non-stop... Aiya....I so miss my breadmaker.

Gasp ksi, you’re giving me hope. Schweppes, did u see that? Bluesky, hmm. Did it close shop?
I read a few posts back- looks like we’re gonna be staring at our white elephants for awhile, Schweppes. This Zojirushi lasts and lasts, aiee.
