Do you have a back-up plan for 'in case you dont get in MGS'? Pls plan for Plan B. Very impt!!How is your girl settling into P1? Can't really believe time passed so quickly and it'll be my turn this time next year.
I was from IJ too, but sending her back there would be quite a distance from where we're staying. -

hi,
does any parent here stay in CCK or yew tee that will be registering their child this year for 2012 take-in?
Which primary school will you choose?
Hi, I'm a newbie here. Yew Tee Pri seems quite a good choice and is just a street across our home. Notice that need balloting in 2010 for Phase 2C. Dunno what's our chance of getting a place for 2012 intake? I'm still very clueless about all these registration thing. :slapshead: -

My daughter just started P1 in CHIJ TP (my former school) this year.janet_lee88:
[quote=\"bleuberi\"]Hi Janet,
Yes, we are. But after last year, balloting needed even within 1km, I dare not be too hopeful.
Understand your worry, esp since there are quite a few new condos around RGPS.

My hubby & I agonized over where to register daughter last year...enjoy guaranteed place under Phase 1 with older sibling or Phase 2A2 in IJ TP. In the end, we chose IJ TP...yes, it's much further. I was contemplating to write in to MGS to put her on wait list but reluctant to leave IJ. If register her at MGS, it's much nearer than hitting PIE every morn. She also has several classmates from her kindy who is in MGS. -
Need some friendly advice for my DD who will be registering for P1 this year.
I am considering the following schools for her and will appreciate any comments u may hv:
1. Temasek Primary (hubby is old boy)
2. CHIJ KC (catholic and within 1-2km)
3. Ngee Ann Primary (within 1-2 km)
4. St. Anthony Canossian (within 1-2 km)
5. Tao Nan (SHHK member for 3-4 years but not active and not within 2 km)
Thank you all in advance.

5. Totally no chance. Very likely to be balloting within 1km. -
Well, it used to be until I read the forum and it seems that TP ranking seems quite low.
My girl also prefers a girls school so now I am getting increasingly confused as to what i shld do.
I think We stand a good chance for Katong convent as well. So I was thinking of trying for that but I really wonder if KC is really better than TP. If the two schools are almost equal, I may stick to TP since we live within one km from the school and my girl can hv a little more sleep. Sigh. Dilemma dilemma.tankee:

Well, my boy's registering for P1 this year as well, & trying to pick where to go is giving me a headache...
First preference is Tao Nan, mainly because I want him in a chinese environment and it's convenient (the school is literally at my doorstep). But, I'll be going through the 2B route and the numbers from last year are quite discouraging.
My other options are Nanyang and Rosyth, where he would be able to qualify under 2A2 but with an increased traveling time (obviously).
Would the 'optimal'/'ksp.com-endorsed' solution be to register for Nanyang or Rosyth at 2A2 while monitoring the situation in Tao Nan? -

Option 2: If you're Catholic, you will fall under 2B for CHIJ KC. Did you check the past 2 years if balloting is required for 1-2km ? It is an all girls' school.
