Yes... yes... he's fine now... and nope, he's not pre-mature at all.
I carried him till full term. :hugs: He's discharged from going for
follow up liao. Phew.. We thank god for that.

Thanks for your concern, and yes you're very right! Everyone's
enjoying him at home.. not sure if \"he\" is enjoying all the
smothering though! :lol:

About the bus, I guess it's about the route, maybe we'll heed your advice, just give them some time and see how.

Also, the bus uncle collect one more month for Dec, saying that it's not deposit and if we withdraw from school bus half way, that one month will be forfeited. Is that common too? Sorry I have many questions cos first time taking school bus :oops:

Yes, that's common as well. Yeeup, it ain't for deposit.
Just as how preschools collect fees for holiday months,
the transport operators work their fees the same way..

Different operators have different payment schedules tho..
We've gotten operators who collect Jan & Feb... others Jan & June,
and there are also those who collect Jan & Dec then Feb & June as well.
Point is, June & December fees are payable.

About the wait list, at Amazing star CCK, there is no wait list for my boy's class. AS is not a fully montessori school, the admin told me it's partial montessori. Today I observed that the kids in my boy's class are quite independent.

When they declare upfront they practise only partial Montessori, that's good,
cos there are centres who just put up the name Montessori and expects ppl
to assume that they DO full Montessori curriculum & worksheets... but they
do not even have full Montessori materials within the centre's classrooms.

Partial Montessori for most centres usually mean they adopt or they take up
the Montessori Phonics and Montessori Mathematics part of the 5 areas of
the Montessori Method, as these two areas have been tried and tested
and one of the known multi-sensory methods of introducing / teaching
children how to read effectively and work math concretely to ensure
children have profound understanding of the subject/area.

By the way, the 5 areas of the Montessori Method are, Montessori Phonics,
Montessori Math, Sensorial, Cultural & Practical Life.

The school introduced phonics through Ants on the Apple book. I heard they have it for even the smallest class (PG). But whether the kid can pick up or not, it depends on individual.

You can purchase it too if you're keen to follow up! Right 2 learn toys has
them, though it is a bit pricey than i last remembered... i bought it much
cheaper elsewhere in Malaysia. Playgroup and Nursery children love to
learn from play, songs and rhyme and they learn it fast too! They are
at the stage where they absorb a variety of different things all at
once... and with the correct amount of concentration span, they
should be able to master the sounds within the year and also
learn how to trace the letters correctly. :celebrate: Home
revision will definitely escalate progress if you ask me.

What difference can you expect when your child goes to a montessori school? I mean, now that he attends a montessori school, can I expect/notice any change in him?

Gosh! Yes, many!!! Too many to name one by one! But it also depends on
teacher's passion and \"pattern\". :lol: An ONZ one will go out of the way..
a standard one will do as told and as planned... a lazy one hmmm... :idea:
this kind, sad to say... put in any teaching environment also will not motivate
children to learn much... so :xedfingers: that your child's teacher is the ONZ kind!

In short i can share is that the Montessori Method is a holistic method of
teaching children to learn not just for the moment or for pure academic
value, but for life. :celebrate:

Cannot compare. Each methodology has its merits and strengths.

Different approaches work for different children too! It's akin to a
mommy having 5 different children... so not good to compare. :lol:

If you ask me though... ekh ehem... of course... the phonics and
maths curriculum is solid! It's hands on, using concrete concepts
and multi-sensory! To top it off, it's a systematic way of learning
math. That said, whatever the methodology is... it needs a good
teacher to execute it! :celebrate:

hi there, buds! saw this new montessori enrichmt centre near dd's cc. finally a good montessori centre nearby! do u tink i shld give it a shot? as in, is it worth spending the $? btw, its cs montessori. i tink they only do enrichment.

I think some montessori centres combine the methods. For instance, my dd does sandpaper letter tracing, and zoophonics at her montessori centre, where all the teachers are fully montessori trained.
