FYI, Form teacher of 1J have already given them the timetable on the first day, subsequent give them the revise copy & also have a letter to inform parents how to coach them the spelling (may be because J class).

I suspect there is homework only if our children can't finish the work in class. Last night, I almost have heart-attack when I see my DS1 note: Do math page 1-9. Nine pages!! :stupid: Then when I opened up the activity book...what a relieve...he only has half page here and half page there uncompleted. The rest are done. So he takes only abt 5 to 10 minutes to finish the uncompleted questions....not too bad.

The homework now is getting more and more. Maths he brought home, so many pages need to colour. Doing them, DS is able to finish the work in school but it is the colouring. So many pages. Wonder this is for kids to kill time, Fruitful or not. They are already 7 yrs old this year. Need to develop their dexterity skill in colouring .. Sighhh .. Can't finish tonight. Tomorrow morning ask him to continue.
He enjoyed his Wushu .. he said no fighting .. which he is looking forward to. -
Oh my god, lots of homework for this weekend. No joke. Compo kicks in… And almost every day there will be various fees to pay. Wondering whether there will be more to come next week… Btw, is subscription to the magazine - "good friend" compulsory or optional? Anyone knows?
Forgot to ask the problemsum website… How to use? Do it on our own pace? -
I like the Zhi Shi Pao. I remembered we have that when I was in the primary school.
I didn’t know they are able to sustain till today.
Yes keep receiving memo on paying $$. 1E not much home work but DS did alot of writing practices. Think he finished most of his work this week.
I am glad he is adapting well now. Told him to write a date on the remarks he put on the notebook. Now I am not so lost like a week ago. Now he can flip to the note book page and tell what he needs for the next school lesson. -

Good for u, cpdalin, really. Coz my girl and I are still adjusting. It is either the homework load or her writing speed too slow… DD spent 1.5 hrs on homework tonight, again, still couldn’t finish them all before going to bed. haiz…
I checked wz the teacher. Subscription to "good friend" is compulsory. It’s part of the textbook material. As long as it will be used, I am happy enough. Just fear that some subscription will turn out to be white elephant or merely collecting dust, wasting $. -

yesterday’s HW was really alot for our kids. My DS did till the very last part on craft work, conked out in bed before he could finish. I had to help him finish sticking the parts of the frog on the toilet roll. Didn’t even manage to do the CL text revision at all. -

Seems that our DS and DD have so much to do and preparation for the spelling and the chinese test each week that they don’t even have time for TV and play. My DS started to complain why must he do so much work.

Guess all of us are in the same boat.
He has to revise his chinese and spelling … pitiful at the start already so much to do… He keep saying I have so little time to play.
