It takes about 15mins to walk or you can take bus 92 from the bus stop opposite MOELC.

Yes. That timing is always jam. Maybe you can ask your son the take train to another station n pick him up from there. The distance to the train station is around 10-15min walk depends on individual.

May I get some ideas/advice on which Sec 1 assessment books are suitable for HCI students? I am asking because their syllabus is quite different from main stream.

Any difference between concert band and school band? Sorry to ask bcos I know nothing about music. If u were talking abt school band, then it shouldn't be difficult to get in. A few of my DS' friends were in band in primary school and all got into school band in HCI. the only thing for band is they have to reach school by 6:45am everyday to be ready for the National Anthem.

Hi Apronmama, my ds also put his name down for library and chinese chess. Wonder how the clubs select the students & when they wl get to know which ccas they are alocated to. Anyone can share pls?

My ds actually put his names down for more than a couple of ccas...and I was told that it is ok.

It seems that putting down their name during the orientation is really to indicate their interest to be considered for a place in that cca. There will be selection and stuff like that in the coming weeks. When offered, I think the students will need to confirm which is the one they will be taking up.

I totally agree with the fact that cca is a commitment that student will stick to for the next 4 years. Thus I am telling my ds to think hard and be responsible in his decision. He will also have to weigh in his school work, other possible roles / activities, his personal dream / ultimate goal from the education etc...another word, think far and if possible, think big (within practical la)..

Yes. Many CCA activities seem good and don’t know what to choose right?

But for boys at this age of growing, I always think sport or uniform group are better for them. Can’t imagine how library servise or Chess can last for four years. Not sure if can take up two CCAs ? ie one sport and one club ?
