You may wish to check out The Write Place (http://www.mexxi3.com). It is headed by Ms Liza Tan, who has published a couple of good compo books. The waiting list is rather long though for classes.

I don't stay at the northeast but I send my child to TAS-The Alternative Story at Bukit Timah. I know they have a branch at Ang Mo Kio. Have you heard of them? My child likes the lessons very much and I like the notes given and I can see improvement in areas like sentence structure, picking up of vocabulary, content development.

I have yet to send my youngest for any of these centres so far my youngest has pte tuition but it is not really working out. I am thinking of either one of
