      SweeKeng1973:
My girl is in 1E. She told me the 2nd story is mr wishy washy. She can tell me the whole story. The word she used like ' jumped, paddled rolled.. ' all tally with the spelling list.

The story she told me is \"something\"like that, not the exact word

\"The cow jumped into the mud. What a lovely mud said the cow. The pig rolled into the mud. What a lovely mud said the pig. The duck paddled into the mud what a lovely mud said the duck. Mr wishy washy came out of the house and screamed.....put them in the tub.. .. Clean them. Mr wishy washy went back the house.. Oh... The cow jumped, the pig rolled, duck paddle into the mud\"
Wow your girl is great!! It's good that she recited all these to you... i found the STELLER list of stories, its at http://www.stellerliteracy.sg

Yes now I see the connection between the spelling and what they are doing in class...

      So it's a story a week?

        Wow SweeKeng,

your girl can tell u almost everything ! Sigh, all my DS tell me is what he eats during recess

btw, can I check with mummies here whether the P1 students need to apply for separate library card to borrow from the mobile library ?

Recently when the mobile library came to school, he couldn't borrow any books because we didn't apply the library card during Admin Day. We tot no need since he already has an NLB card.
My girl is using the same NLB card that we use whenever we go to the library... don't think need to apply a separate card. But I know if there's outstanding fine, you may not be allowed to borrow til the fine is settled. My girl kenna once like this in Bishan Library. So you may wish to check...

Hi bboomer71, thanks for the mobile library dates ! My boy must have missed what the FT said in class about the mobile library 😞

May I know what card do they use to borrow from the school library ? Is it student pass ? Any news on when the kids are getting it ?

No need to apply if you have a NLB. My boy wrote in his dairy to bring libray card last week. On Monday, he went to the mobile library and borrowed 2 books.

Oh dear, I am beginning to feel very insecured.... my son could not tell me if he has done any worksheets (aka test), the Pupil's Diary is blank everyday. I have not had the chance to see his Stella handwriting and he is still at Farmer's concert. Today, he has LIBRARY, according to his time table. I just let him bring his library card. I remember the Prinicpal said that the mobile library will go to school once a term. So i suppose the rest of the library lessons mean going to the shool library and borrow books using the NLB library card. Is this understanding correct ?

Btw, I have compiled the canteen menu from pictures I took on Saturday after the Stella briefing into an excel file. how can I upload an excel file pls ?[/quote]Yes diary should have some stuff everyday. So far this is the case with my girl so maybe you need to check with the teacher.

wow would like to check the menu in the canteen but i also don;t know how to upload... some parents pls help.

I called the GO and they said mobile library comes as and when, there’s no specific dates or schedule. The mobile library goes round the island to many schools so Pei Chun will be notified the next dates (which may not be the day the class having the library period).

Cannot remember if the dates are the same for all the classes. Mummies, please check against the notice board/with teacher to confirm ok! Those dates are for 1E for sure.

My son said teacher did not remind abt the recent mobile lib visit (but he may have missed the reminder, common at this age haha). Oh? NLB card is for sch lib too? Hmm... will check with my kid when he returns tonight. This forum is pretty good for staying in the know! 🙂

It was from the board that I found out abt Monday’s mobile lib visit for 1E. Good that i packed a card for him and he was able to borrow some books.

My DD borrowed 4 books from mobile library last week. Told me that these books can be return to any national library. Is this true?

My DD also has little entry on diary book. No CR小书 and Stella still at Farm Concert.

The EZ link card (yellow color)is to be used for borrowing books from school library.

I called the GO. The school has yet to receive news from SMRT with regards to the making of student pass... so I was told it will not be in January.
