Silly me  I thought is for this sat.. Yup, i received the daily timetable on their 1st week of school already also have pasted on her handbook as well.

No worries, a mite confusing actually, we talk about saturday, timetables and all. DS class timetable was distributed 'late' becos teacher was out sick last week. (set in context).

Anyway, want to check if kids are using the english textbook (remember the wordbank, the topic by topic books we had to buy? So far, DS only been bringing chinese and maths textbook.

I can't rem how does the wordbank and the topic by topic books looks like (I'm sure I have it at home bcos i bought everything).

Everyday DD only bring the Chinese and Maths textbook to school. Won't want to add on to her burden unless the teacher ask for it. See her so poor thing everyday carry that \"tortoise shell\" to school.

Same same. But I think I bought too big a bag for DS....it looks quite empty still and very big on him.

Yesterday, at instructions of DS, I had to give him his tingxie becos teacher made them write down in their diary to learn tingxie....this is hilarious.
So cute...kids at this age still believe in the power of the written word.
I remembered when I was in P1 or P2 and was writing a compo about myself. I wrote that my hair was tied into 2 pony tails, and for don't know how many weeks I asked my mother to tie my hair that way because that was how I described myself. I did not want to be thought as lying

i heard from friends that their kids in primary school need handphone for easier contact, especially when nowadays the long hours spend in school, enrichment class. Don't think is a necessity but some do carry.

HW seems quite safe with security of valuables. I saw when they need to leave the classroom for PE or chinese calligraphy class, the class monitor has a key to lock the classroom door. The key is hang on lanyard around his neck. This should minimize the loss of items.

Also, their name tags are in - but I'm not sure when we MUST have it sewn onto their uniforms.
                    Hi hquek,
I still haven't receive the name tags. Was thinking maybe the FT will pass it to us personally on Sat.

BTW have you sewn them onto ur DS uniforms? Wonder why they don't it in those iron on sticker. Easier for us parents also just iron on πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

That's a bit late? DS1 had it in his pencil box, you may want to rummage around a bit. BTW, there is NO plastic thingy behind - ie CANNOT iron on. I did herringbone stitch - no machine at home and didn't want to bring to seamstress. Not very nicely done actually, but was thinking about the poem 'You Zi Ying'...kekekeke (self entertainment).

ha ha...young kids are more steadfast in their beliefs?

BTW DS was mistaken. BIG TIME. Don't want to say more about what was actually required except that I'm not too happy at what's required. :x Will seize the opportunity sometime to chit chat with who's concerned.
