          Hi janet_lee88,

DD former school uses "Primary 2 English" under Casco Publications Pte Ltd. Personally find it useful to build up their grammar.

Just my own opinion…find that having text re-enforce Nouns, Singular and Pural nouns, countable n uncountable, adjectives, verbs etc. At least the text classify some of the nouns so that DD have a better idea. Maybe I am "old school"…still not an advocate of stellar yet:)

I'm definitely not an advocate of stellar...something to fall back on and having a hard copy beats the idea of waiting for my daughter's English worksheets to be returned to see what she has been doing in school.
In any case, I did buy the reference book mentioned in the booklist but it doesn't 😢 include Vocab like 'animals and their young', 'animals and sounds', 'occupations'.

For kids who are staying back for CCA/remedia/supplementary, did you arrange for school transport or did you pick the kids up yourself?

I picked up my gals yesterday around 330pm and was taken aback by the horrendous traffic. It was jammed all the way from CHIJ Secondary school . It seemed that both Secondary and Primary school ended their classes around the same time.

Now I am hving second thought if I shd just pay and let them take the chartered bus.

                  Hi Quintessential Mum/Mummies,

Can I seek your advice if there is any non-academic stuff I should teach my daughter ? For eg, behavioural issues. My daughter is a chilli-padi...very diff from my older child who is very 乖 type. Please advise me how I can make sure she is on the right track. Thanks in advance.
Well, it would be great to talk to her everyday re her day and friends that she made etc. Sometimes, she may encounter bullies and it is good to nip it in the bud if it happens. May be play out scenarios, for example, someone takes your stationery, what do you do? This will help her if she comes across such situations in school. Do ask her about the teachers too, what does she like about Teacher A etc? In the past, i bought my girl a white board and asked her to write down her goals academic and others for the year and it serves as a motivator. I use to get quotes Like Do your best always etc and put it on the board. Any notices also get pinned on the board along with commendations from teachers on work done. You can get the board from Popular and buy decorative magnets from the Art Deco shops to decorate the board. Hope it helps!

                      Hi Quintessential Mum,
She told me her classmate scratched her. Told her she should inform her teacher...and she told me she has done so. I have a white board for the kids to learn spelling and drawing. Will keep a closer tab on her, now that she is in primary school. Thanks for your tips.
