Wow....that was ages ago. I know that second-hand bookshop too. Used to pop in to borrow Enid Blyton books like the Famous Five, Secret Seven, Bobsey Twins, Mallory Towers. Then graduated to Mills & Boons books  Rental was like 10 cents, and get five cents back on return. Haha...how cheap things were then.

Haha, indeed very surprised to find two other forummers here who used to patronise that tiny shop, :celebrate: yes, Enid Blyton, Famous Five .... miss those good old days, so cheap and so good!

I use to go to San Bookshop weekly. Then stopped cos shifted and no San bookshop or rental bookshop nearby so went online and rented books from bookcraves.com. They actually deliver and collect so very convenient. But their titles are limited and I found a San bookshop at Jurong pt which I have to go every week so back to renting from them again. Now stop again since I have my kindle & ipad.

I digress a bit. When in my teens to early 20s one of my dream was to open a cosy bookstore cum bistro. Still dreaming. šŸ˜›

Us SJI boys used to visit those bookshops along Bras Basah Rd in the old days (early 80s) for all those \"interesting\" books (ahem).

There was usually a better selection when the US Navy came to town .....
