I know that's the MOE requirement. I recall reading that some schools require their students to score min B in HCL or they would need to take up CL in Year 5&6. I can't remember which schools now.[/quote]There are only 4 SAP schools with yr5 and yr6 now. RV just implemented this criteria of requiring at least B4 for HCL. Are you refering to HCI and NYGH?
As long as one gets D7 for HCL, one does not need to take CL in yr5 and yr6 .WeiHan:

Not sure. Thought I read it somewhere. -

I only learn about this after you mentioned it.

of course the pupils fully understand that they cannot totally \"ignore their HCL\".
But I think it is not a very good attitude. Where does it stops? If one can think in that way for HCL, one can well also think that you don't need to score full distinctions to get into the U. Basically, with this attitude, one won't put in best effort for any endeavour. the best attitude should be that one will put in best possible effort in all school work. After one goes to society, one will then put in best effort in whatever endeavour one embarks on.
if too badly done, it will then results in pulling down their GPA,
and GPA is the deciding factor for promo criteria and also for offering 4 H2 subj.
there shd be a balance in overall, not just emphasize on HCL.
further more, since the school's \"O\" level HCL performance is above the national average, don't think the P is too worrisome for it.

The B4 should be an internal policy in some schools for their own students.\t

\"MOE Policy: All students must offer Mother Tongue (MTL) at H1 or H2 level unless they have obtained a minimum of D7 for higher MTL at ‘O’ Level, in which case, they need not take H1 MTL and may use their ‘O’ Level HMTL results for university admission score computation with rebasing.\" -

i din see anything mentioned particulary abt HCL in the student's handbook.
So there's no minimum grade required for exemption in CL in DHS for Yr 5 & 6? Just a pass C6 will do? I thought in some of the SAP schools you need to score at least B4 otherwise you'll be required to take some form of CL in Yr 5/6. -

I'm aware of that. I can't remember which schools' internal policy it was. -

What is DH’s criteria to do 4H2 in yr5 and 6?
