Dear all,
I am a new resident in Pasir Ris and currently looking for a good childcare for my son.
He will be K1 next year.
Any good childcare to share? Anyone knows about YWCA/Jude at Pasir Ris ?
Thank you. -
Hi,
Have you found school for your son? I’m also looking it for my son. I 'd checked 6 school around pasir ris park aria but don’t really like it… He is K1 this year. For me is more important K1 teacher and second thing is environment. Please any recommendation! Have to start in new school from Feb. -
Hi If you are looking for just 3-4 hrs kind of Kindergarten classes in Pasir Ris, you can try enquiring at "Smart Junior Kindergarten" situated at Blk 716 Pasir Ris St 72, ground floor.
They used to conduct "P1 Preparation Class" after normal school hrs, on 3 days a week, about 1.5 - 2 hrs per day (1 day 1 subject) for K2 students. Not sure if they are conducting it this year. Very beneficial; my girl have a smooth transition from K2 - P1 last year, and can cope well with P1 studies last year.
My girl is now in P2 this year, but she used to attend N2 to K2 there. -
My son is attending Exponential Learning Hut since he was 2.5 years old, now he is in the K2 class. Personally I like the Montessori way of introducing phonics to young children, it has benefit him in his reading skill. The class ratio is small & teachers are able to give good attention to all individual. The school website: http://www.elh.com.sg

Hi. Your kid is in what level in Bethesda Pasir Ris now? My kid is enrolled there in Nursery. So far I have heard good feedbacks in this school that's why I sent my kid there. So far she seems to be fine in BPK. However my maid told me that one time when she fetched my kid, my daughter's face was a bit dirty because of some dried mucus and dried blood. The teacher said my kid was accidentally hit with a toy and her nose bled (my kid's nose is really quite sensitive and easily bleeds, I know). I'm just disappointed that the teacher/teacher-aid didn't even helped clean my daughter's face. They just seem to wait for us to fetch my kid and clean it ourselves. I don't know if I'm just expecting too much from the teachers or what. My kid came from a montessori-type of school (in Sg also) and the teachers there were very caring. Is it because of the higher teacher-student ratio that teachers wouldn't care to clean-up the kid? Is this the normal practice in school? Can you give your comments or share your experience? I'm a foreigner in Sg therefore I don't know if this is the \"norm\".yeomaylin:
anyone has any experience with Bethesda (Pasir Ris) Kindergarten? I was thinking of registering my son for K1 in this school. Good or bad comments are welcome. Tks!
Hi, my kid is in Bethesda (Pasir Ris). He enjoyed the programme and environment and teachers a lot. Did try to shift him to anther school but however he still prefer Bethesda.
I feel that the curriculum is quite balance between play and academic.
Most of the teachers there are very good (except for 1-2) especially their chinese teacher. My son know and speak very little chinese at home but he pick up so much in school and now he said that his favourite thing is to learn chinese.
On fees side, I do feel that it's a bit costly as compare to PMCK. I guess maybe u would like to bring your kid down to the different kindy that u have intention to register and let him see which he prefer.
Both Bethesda and PMCK are not bad.
We plan to give it sometime if my kid will be able to adjust and be more independent. We will observe as well if she will learn a lot from this school. If we're not satisfied, we might consider moving her to a school with lower ration even though fees will be higher. -
Hi, just pm u.
Forgot to reply u on this, usually the teacher or the assistant will clean them up and inform parents abt any accident. You may want to approach the teacher to check with her. -
Hi,
Any parents out there have experience sending their kids to iMAN Kindergarten & Childcare at Pasir Ris or any of their other branches? Would like to know your views on the school, teachers & environment in general.
Thanks! -
Hello Mummies,
Need some advice, my son is K1 this year at Carpe Diem but last day is end of Feb'11.
I have visted MindChamps Preschool and now comparing with Cambridge or alternatives.
Cambridge @ SengKang:
-I have called up, like the friendly and knowleagable principle,
-School fees is reasonable, but there is one big problem No School Bus Service from Tampines.
Total School fees + School Bus Service (if any) will add up to approximately S$800/ month.
On top of this; there will be additional enrichment classes for my son.
Therewith; total expenese for education is S$1000 to 1100/ month.
Otherwise I have to look for other alternatives:
Option 1
-To find a childcare centre/ preschool with school fees (inclusive of subsidy) + school bus (if any) in total of not more than S$600.
-Add Speech & Drama enrichment S$120/ month.
-Add FasTracKids S$170/ month.
Total for option 1 is S$900/ mth.
Option 2
-Just sign up for MindChamps preschool for S$1000/ month (after subsidy).,
But not enrichment classes.
I really like MindChamps as it's just walking distance from my home, but the schools fees are cut throat for me as I could not afford to have any additional enrichment programmes for my boy.
Hope you could give some sugguestions..

My son will soon be 3. He is attending Mygym at Tampines. It is an independent class, 2 hrs a day, for twice a week. I can tell that he enjoys his classes and always look forward to going back. The teachers are nice and caring. I am hoping to find a place similar to Mygym but with slightly longer hrs like 3hrs a day. I am a SAHM so I don’t need him attending any daycare. After reading thru this thread, I might check out a few places mentioned. The closest within walking distances would be the bungalow daycares which I am not in favour of. Anyone know of something similar to Mygym with longer hours in Tampines? It is easier for me to bring my toddler to the Tampines central coz there is a shuttle bus operating from my place.
