      Hi

      Zoophonics. There have several branches.
I heard zoophonics using animals to teach phonics. Is it effective? has ur child attended there before? thanks.

        Hi

My son is the active type. After going through 4 mths of sit down approach with Read in a Week (collaboration with Kent Ridge Tutors), he only master the basic 26 sounds. The teacher originally suggested he goes through the basic level all over again, later she changed her mind to move him on to intermediate level but pay more attention to him. I withdrew. It was a waste of time & money.

Then I switched him to zoophonics, start all over again. Results tremendous. Not only he enjoys, he also made improvements. There is evaluation at every 10th lesson. If I remember correctly, he scored 18/30, 24/30, 30/30, 24/30 (last test majority 22/30, with highest being 29/30). There is singing to reinforce each animals’ name/sound. When he encounters words outside, he would ask how to read. Eg. Stop, Parking. It is good that I can see his awareness and initiative to ask. He has been with Bukit Timah branch for a yr, now going for next level. 2nd half is creative writing.

I strongly recommendation, child should started to study phonics from age 18 months, which i had enrolled him to Zoo Phonic @ Jurong West branch at age 20 months till now (K2).

He manage to study by himself all type of lady bird’s story book at age 4 years. Yet always score high mark for centre examination at end of each lession.

I feel happy with his current performance, always encourage parents to enroll their child to Zoo Phonics. Feel is good investment for it.

            Cheers,
            WS

                Hi there,

                There are 2 types:

                1) Daily programme

                2) Weekend Sat or Sun

                I took Sunday morning

There will be 1 trial @ SGD25 per lesson. Hope u like it.

PS: IS A GOOD INVESTMENT (EDUCATION)

                  Hi

Their weekly programme is like kindergarten, but no Maths, I think, only English & Chinese. Their once a week programme is enrichment. $120/month.

No trial, the assessement is by the founder herself. It is for her to gauge where your child stand. Or let you know rough programme outline. Homework very minimal, sometimes have, most of time no. My son is K2, just move on to Wise Owls. Yours should not have homework. Handicraft done in class.

I heard their teachers are all loud spoken, which I like, able to get attention from the kids.

Zoo-phonics conduct chinese only for N1, to recognise word. If your child already have chinese program elsewhere, just enroll in the english program for only 100 bucks instead of 120. Plus if child is enroll for straight 3mths - upfront payment, there is a further discount of 10% if im not wrong.

Btw any parents enroll their child in Thomson or tampines branch, i need some feedback. Thanks.

                      Thanks for everyone’s feedback.

So at the time being, weekly enrichment courses of learning phonics is sufficient for my 2 year old girl? From there, they will pick up fast rite since oni once a week?

Do u teach or revise phonics urself at home with your child since oni once a week?

Thanks. Sorry for so much qs.
