Hi there, I am urgently looking for a maid to help look after my mom who had stroke on last Thursday. I heard that Myanmar Maid is good but I am not sure which agency I should go to.

Can someone here please give me scme recommendations?? Thanks!!

      JLK.
Not all Myanmar good hor, most can't read English nor understand English verbally .... pray hard then u find a lucky day to go maid hunting.
At the moment, they are the cheapest source in Sg. Some agencies claimed their M maid understands Chinese.

      yes. *cross my fingers*

yes. *cross my fingers*[/quote]Hi, utd channel is not the only agent that supplies mynmars, there are many other agencies in bket timah shopping cte. Theres another called Great employment a few doors away frm them, they seem to hv maids frm kachin and chin. If u walk around bkt timah s.cte u willl find a few more other agencies supplying mynmars too.
I recently checked out Netmaid and there seem to b a good number of mynmars frm different agencies. They do give a brief description of the mynmar maids. At Utd channel they hv biodatas but cant tell u much about the maid.

Better to get Myanmar, that stay near the China border, then there is still some hope that they can understand and speak a little bit of Chinese.

And I do agree, Myanmar maids not necessary good... some of them come out to see the world and expect good life here... I kenna one before..... Sit down on bed and do nothing, and I have to sweep and mop the floor šŸ˜ž

            Andaiz,

Tis news came from your agent? Any idea if there's any report indicating that it is confirmed?

Am worried as my new PH maid is supposed to come in frm PH ytd, and agent did not indicate that there is any problems..

            Sigh..
eltricia, that's the news from my agent. If your agent did not indicate problems then I guess he/she has an alternative route.

Has your new maid reached SG yet?

My cousin just got her new maid.
The maid went to Msia on social visit pass, then once WP approved, came into SG. She had to pay for the maid's 1 week stay in Msia which the agent claimed that they 'trained' her there.

                      happy to be mum
                      last edited by

maids maids maids...without them, our work, family, social life might be haywire especially for those parents (like me) that do not have a very strong supports from our parents, (my mum never takes care of any of my siblings' kids and i know she does not want to take care of kids so dun even want to bother her, my dad has already passed away, my in-laws dunno where... therefore to those parents who have great support from your parents (our kids's grandparent), appreciate and be very thankful to them..

seriously, our govt is not doing enough at all to encourage parents or married couple to give birth to more kids as the costs are so high, especially with the increase of the maids's salary now increasing so much.

for me, if my maid does not give me any problems, whole household run smoothly. But once she starts to give me problems, our family's life and relationship will suffer. If no maid, put childcare, also so expensive after subsidy and come back home from work, need to cook, feed the kids, guide them with their sch works, do housework, etc.. we dun have any times for ourselves, except to work, sleep, eat, take care of family and kids, no wonder people do not want to give birth!

now have two darling sons, heart still pin for a number 3 but with such lousy govt \"family support\" for us, (govt shld seriously consider to scrape the levy for those with kids) can just hope only and dun dare to try! just have to pray hard šŸ™ maid don't give me too much problems and continue to work for me happily then I can also work happily. But I will still have to mentally prepare myself for a backup plan of childcare in case maid just tell me anyday she does not want to work for me anymore.

I really hope they can do without the levy, especially for families with kids/elderly.
Maybe charge us a ONE TIME levy, not a monthly levy!
