Hi lilytan,Hi lilytan and minine2004
Nice to see both of you here. My DD will be moving to P2 next year.
lilytan...since your DS1 had just finished his P5, how would you rate the school in terms of academic demands (ie. do you think that the school had high expectations of the students)
Would u please share on the school's expectation of the students. Its now week 3 of the school term & honestly i have not seen much as to wat my P1 & P3 kids have been doing in sch in terms of homework. Is this norm? -
Hihi, just went to the Stella breifing last friday.
Guess nothing much, they said they will put up the slides on the school website…so those who din attend, can go in and read up the slides.
Just a few notes that the HOD mentioned…
Stella prog is story book based. She encourages us not to get the story books for our kids, so that the kids will be able to "participate" when the teachers teach in class.
Just tell us just provides kids w reading materials at home, bring them to library, get them to read, write, instead of drilling them with assessment books…haha. -

I guess the only way to make parents less confuse is to feedback and let the school mgt know...which i may be concern about some stuff like...my boy is not drinking water now in school cux he is not allowed to go toilet etc etc etc...also, i find it difficult to remember which \"combination\" of the PE-attire/ formal sch uniform, kids need to wear. According to student handbook, half PE-attire after PE lesson. Why cant students simply wear PE-attire throughout the day? so cumbersome for them to change...
separately, i was surprise to find tat P1 level EL is relatively \"relaxing\". my dd was doing penmanship....smth which i thot kids are expected to noe/do b4 entering P1....& that spelling is only for 5 words!
can anyone share how hectic CCA is for students ? my boy has CCA on Mon & Wed....was just informed that he needs to attend tournament as well.... so his afternoon schedule for the next 2 weeks would be packed fr Mon to Thurs! in my opinion, this is bery hectic. :imdrowning: is this the norm? -

Really? CL homework everyday? Mmh, my dd doesnt hv that...strange....
Maybe cos the focus is now more on the \"holistic\" part, written homework/ schoolwork is not much......looking forward to the PTM on Feb 18 to find out more fr the school/ teacher.... -
