A math teacher told me that model is a tool to help children to understand math concept. The most important of learning math is to understand concept. Model is a very straight forward way to solve problem, the main purpose of build model is to help children who is not good in direct concept learing. The math teacher’s suggestion is that it is not good to learn model in early primary stage, it is not good to develop their math minds.

This morning, the traffic condition was really bad.. both inside and outside the school. i think the school shld have another covered drop off point ouiside the school near the current bus bay area located outside near the school gate. And parents can join drop off their kids outside the school and after which turn right and exit out to bt timah road..

Now everyone drives into the school to drop off their kids and a one lane driveway became a 2/3 lane driveway and everyone wants to get out at the exit near NJC...

The school shld look into exploring how to improve the traffic condition.. especially during raining days...

Hmm.. and my dd has told me that the school floods during rainy weather too

The school itself floods!? Oh dear!

i realise some kids doesn'tlearn chinese spelling by writing the words repeatedly.. They will still forgot how to write after writing it repeatedly.. My dd learn chinese spelling by just lookingat the word and i will explain the meaning and bian eg wood is mu ... Three stroke symbolises water

Oh for chinese i got to break up the words into parts for my dd before she can learn it. She cannot learn just by looking. I need to tell her u see this word left hand side is 'ren', right hand side is something else etc before she remember it.

Now her main problem is she always mix up when to use 的 and when to use 地 in a sentence.

For English, I get my dd to try spelling based on the phonetic sound but I discovered that the Chinese han zi is actually very interesting. Eg, recently she learnt the word yi (as in chair). I explained that in olden times, chairs were all made of wood so the bian is mu. When she saw the word, she realised that the other part was qi (as in strange-qi guai) so to help her remember, I said that the people thought that a chair was a strange wooden contraption. Hee...don't know if it helps her but it sure amuses me.

Yah, we were there when traffic literally stopped! Traffic in both directions just could not move. Didn't stick around to find out how it started to flow again. We decided to walk my dd to school to avoid adding to the traffic jam.

At the moment the area outside the guardhouse is already an informal drop off/pickup area but not sure if the school will want to make it an official one. I think I recall the P discouraging the practice on the basis that it was dangerous.

The school can do away with the bus parking bay outside of the school and turn it into a shelter drop off point… Is good to provide secondary drop off to avoid the bottle neck issue at the exit area.

Is easy for the school to say not safe… they can always make it safe with good design… and facilitate every one to exit in/out of the school in the most efficient way.
