      Hi parents,

May I ask for some advices on which school should my DD go for:

      1. Raffles Girls’ Primary - Phase 2B; >2km
      2. Singapore Chinese Girls’ Primary - Phase 2B; slightly off >2km
      3. CHIJ (Toa Payoh) - Phase 2C; 1-2km
      4. Hong Wen - Phase 2C; <1km

I’m helping out at grassroot community. DD is interested in art (painting & performing) and active in sports. She also shows much interests in Chinese language. While my preferred choice is SCGP, I’m afraid of balloting risk especially now that it’s in IP. From logistics angle, SCGP, CHIJ(TP) and Hong Wen are convenient. Advices much appreciated.

        Hi
I'm not too sure about the above balloting history, but u can always try for phase 2B first, if unsuccessful, then go for phase 2C.
        Thanks.

Not too clear about your other choices - though I would think SC or RGPS should be ok for Phase 2B. But the one I do know, Hong Wen, under 2C, there has been balloting within 1KM for the past number of years; so chance are not that great actually. End of it all, that would still be your best choice if you have to resort to 2C.

            Hi,

Now I am in a dilemma situation…should I aim for Phase 2B in St Margaret or try Phase 2C in NCPS?

In term of logistic, NCPS is just less than 5 mins walk from home but my concern is that should DD unable to secure a place during balloting, DD will have to try other nearby school.

As for St Margaret, better chance of getting a place under phase 2B but DD will have to take school bus.

            Thanks

From your previous post, you stated that your dd was borned in 2005 and is going P1 in 2012. Are you a PV in St Margarent currently or are you a GRL?

NCPS under P2C quite risky....unless you are ok to settle for another nearby school under P2C Sup..
St Margaret under P2B should be safe...but the problem is the distance between yr home and school...

We need a school with BASC and the nearby school does not have it.

So we aim for St Margaret despite of the distance as the school have BASC and with interesting CCA.

Initially, our concern is whether the travel distance will tired DD but it seem we left with no much choices. We afraid that after taking the risk at NCPS and DD may not get it.

So base on your advise, we should aim for St Margaret ?

                    Many Thanks

Last year TUR was 49% at P2B...should be very safe for St Margaret as long as distance is not a problem for you and your dd....
