Phonics & sentence structuring class?

Dear all,


There are so many classes out there, so prefer to ask for mum/dad’s views. Just attended PTM for Kenji (gg to P1 in 2010). Tr commented that he’s a not so fast learner & needs constant revision to remember what he learnt.

He can’t blend well for phonics as well. When I read with him, I realised it too.

So am looking for a class which helps in teaching phonics blending & sentence structuring, since he’s gg to P1.

Hi, i juz went for my boy k2 PTM. Spoke to the principal abt my concern abt my boy’s phonics level…


Her advice :
Not all children take on phonics well. Phonics is just one component of reading, its not everything. If his gd in phonics, cheers. If not so gd, do not sweat over it and add stress to him. Do more reading together, he’ll pick up words thru sight reading and he’ll internalise the words on his own at his own pace…

Agree in a certain sense, but phonics will help him in spelling too when he goes to P1. Else memory space may be limited?

DS1 also has poor phonics, suffered lots when he went P1, just afraid history repeats itself.

there are so many classes out there. you have to state which area you are looking at? Serangoon? or anywhere cos parents nowadays don't mind travelling for good enrichment.

there are so many classes out there. you have to state which area you are looking at? Serangoon? or anywhere cos parents nowadays don't mind travelling for good enrichment.
