Really gone?? I like their claypot rice too. A stall set up by husband and wife and their mother. They first sold at the old market beisde Lau Pa Sa. Then they shifted to China Square. I almost frequented it at least once every week for years while working around there since they were at old market. The boneless chicken meat is well marinated. I have tried other claypot rice like the one in Clementi but I still prefer Lau Pa Sa Claypot Rice.

      You're a fan too??!!!! :celebrate:

Yes, the succulent boneless chicken thigh meat, fresh crisp cai xin, fragrant salted fish, cai poh, paired with their free flow belacan chilli.... mo tak deng ah!!!

If you do manage to track them down, pls let me know..... šŸ˜ž

You really send me drooling!  Ha!Ha! I am not only a fan of Lau Pa Sa chicken claypot rice but also a fan of claypot rice! Thinking of the spicy belachan chilli mixed with the piping hot rice really made me thrilled. So far, it was the best claypot rice I had ever tried.... Let's keep each other informed if you manage to trace the whereabouts of the stall....... Another of my favourite stall at China Sqaure was NaNa Curry. Don't know still there or not? :?

You are welcome. Looks like queue is shorter now compared to China Sq.

In the late 80s, there was a store in Holland Close coffee shop. It was manned by an Hainanese old couple with their son. Its not the thick brown gravy type which is commonly found in food court. They served tripe, sinews, thinly sliced beef with thin flat rice noodles (like Ipoh hor fun) in a slightly herbal broth. The chilli/ginger dipping sauce is to die for. Since they are Hainanese, so I assume its the Hainanese style lor šŸ‘…

Theres a pretty good store in Joo Chiat, very famous.... but difficult to run away for a quick fix for my craving lor, since I live, work, shop in the west.

OK OK OK, I compromise. Does anyone know of a good beef noodle stall in the west, based on mrt stations between Clementi to Lakeside?

Theres a Thaksin Thai style beef noodles in Clementi central, but how about the local style?

i know of one that is ran by a hainanese couple. i used to go to their store when i was in uni... they were at the hawker centre that just along the road.. empress road if i am not wrong.

but i havent been there in years too so not sure if they are still operating. the couple selling the hainanese beef noodles are very nice.
