carebear:
My P6 dd has no sign of any breast development yet...means that she is probably going to get her period later perhaps Sec 2 or 3? Anyone whose gal is this late before?[Usually onset of period is about 1-2 years after development of breasts.

Heyya westmom, I'm a late bloomer. If you've read the above posting
i got it during the final term of Sec 3, thankfully during the school holidays.
Not much on the breast-y part.. just a lil fleshy mebbe but like a small bun,
but more developed at mid of Sec 4. Not much on cramps and stuff that
other girls go through. Was able to resume my much enjoyed sporting
activities as per normal.

Thanks Buds- it got me worried a bit. Come to think of it, my dd is not only slow in developing physically, she also seem \"babyish/innocent\" in character compared to her peers. On the positive note, I have more years to enjoy her before she \"grows up\"...!Heyya westmom, I'm a late bloomer. If you've read the above posting

Yeah! You're right! Enjoy your girl...

My dad ever sent me a card on my b'day..
I was on overseas stint then. The card said,
\"In my eyes, you'll always be my little girl...\"
Sob.
Touching right?
That's why i'm daddy's girl.

Yes buds, I agree that you're 100% daddy's girl... and don't forget that you're also the \"STARCHILD\" in the family!!
I have long realised that the \"Number 1\" spot in buds heart will always be for my FIL (old man buds) ...... -

That is very true! When my girl started her puberty at P5, her temperament also started to change. From a 'happy-go-lucky' & cheerful girl, she became quite temperamental, sometimes moody, ever ready to 'retort' & hard to please...I was so sad then. I disliked the change in her and kept trying to figure out what I have done as a parent to contribute to that.

It doesn't help that as she gets more rebellious, she gets more scoldings from me. :x
She's into pop songs/stars, mad about sports news, branded school bags & etc... those stuff that teenagers indulge in. While most P6s are busy worrying and studying for their PSLE, she is still in a world of her own, not anxious, not willing to put in work to prepare for it.
I spoke to a counsellor from a hotline :?: and have gained some new perspectives in looking at the issue. I have learnt that I have to give her lots of attention, seriously look into her needs (ie. what she wants instead of what I think is good for her) and be very patient instead of reacting :x to her nonsense. Yes, she is into her teenage phase & I must change my parenting style.
Honestly, I am not ready for that yet and am still trying to come to terms with it. Westmon, enjoy your 'baby' while you can. -
